Announcement   Looking for something you don't see here? Check out my Facebook Page - www.facebook.com/craftwich - I tend to post LOTS of stuff there first, and sometimes they don't make it into Etsy.
Custom orders are welcome! Need a special length of knitting needle or tunisian hook? Just ask!

Hello, and welcome to my shop! I am a fiber addict - I crochet, spin and sew, and I'd like to share my crafts with you. I also carve wood tools for fiber arts.
All my wood items are carved by my own hands and hand-sanded until they squeak. I use all-natural, vegetable based wood preservative .
My wood comes from fallen wood gathered around Puget Sound, and picked up by friends.
I also like to carve exotic woods - they make the best small sizes! Most of those woods are re-purposed (except for a small amount I purchase so I can try the wood out).
I don't like any wood or fiber to go to waste!

I can do slight alterations to items you buy (for example, I can round the top of a crochet hook, if you prefer) - no extra charge.

I want you to love my tools and come back, so I offer a free exchange if the one you picked isn't quite what you wanted.
Thank you for looking!

Please go on my Facebook page for Craftwich Creations and Like! I tend to do a preview before I list, and you can reserve a hook you see there so you don't miss it!
You can also find me on Ravelry and Twitter as Craftwich.

About

Create art with beautiful tools!

We moved to the gorgeous Puget Sound area in 2009, and I found myself with the time to work on growing my fiber art skills. I took up spinning, and at a crochet retreat I learned how to carve my own hooks...soon I had jars of them and I couldn't stop!
What I love about carving hooks is that each hook is part of a story of the life of the tree - each step in the process is a chapter. Where the wood was found, what it looks like under the bark, how it wants to be carved, and the finished item - each step is a new discovery. It's beautiful. A mystery to be solved. And once in a while, a particular tool has a name that comes out. Over the past few years since I started this, I like to think up new tools and supplies for the fiber arts, also. I don't like to waste anything, so necklaces hooks came from the rest of the branch that made a hook, shawl sticks came from branches too small to carve, etc. I feel the same about fiber, too! If I can't spin it or crochet it, maybe it can be felted. I also try to be sensitive to my environment - I use a natural, vegetable-based wood preserver, and NO wood is cut off a tree just to make a hook! Most of my wood is found by me, friends, and sometimes customers (I do a trade, 10 usable pieces of wood for a hook!)
The absolutely best part about doing this, is finding the person to match the tool. Nothing makes me more happy, nor is more satisfying, than getting feedback that says "I love it! Fits my hand PERFECTLY!"
I want everyone to try a one of a kind, fits-to-your-hand tool - take pride in your craft, enjoy the process - have a beautiful tool!

  • Other Method
Payment
I accept Paypal, credit cards, and Etsy Gift Cards. Please note if you pay by check or money order, I will not ship until it clears in the bank. Nonpayment after five (5) days will result in a cancelled order. Please contact me if there's any issues.
In some cases, trade may be an acceptable "other", but only by prior approval by both shop owners. Any "other" arrangements must be approved prior to sale, thank you!
Shipping
I ship via USPS First Class mail unless listed with other method. I will combo-ship items ordered same day. If you order more than once on the same day, I will refund the shipping difference.
If you desire alternative shipping, PLEASE contact me so we can work it out.
Unless I'm on vaca (which would be noted), I will usually ship items within 3 days after an item was purchased, unless noted.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase! If for whatever reason your item does NOT work for you, I will exchange it for another of your choice if I am contacted and original item is mailed back with five (5) days of purchase, in same condition it was mailed. I can also make small adjustments to items purchased (for example, crochet hooks); just contact me and mail the item back.
I do not automatically purchase shipping insurance; I will not be held responsible for loss during shipping. If you would like to purchase shipping insurance, please contact me.
If your item breaks - contact me!!! Unless you did something really strange for it to break (they are not good for opening bottles trust me), I will probably replace it. I want you to be happy; that means if it's defective, I need to know and fix it!
Additional policies and FAQs
If you would like to sell any of my items on your website or in your physical store, I am open to wholesale order, please contact me!
As stated above, I am also open to trades, usually for fiber, yarn and some finished items: please contact me.
