About

Just keep stitching, just keep stitching, just keep stitching, stitching, stitching...

I taught myself to knit in college, and after making a scarf and blanket for myself, I made a set of baby blankets for my nephews when they were born in July 2009. Throughout college, knitting was a fun activity for the few free moments I had, and continued when I went to graduate school in 2010.
My shop started after I made a scarf for a friend's birthday in January 2011; her four roommates asked me for scarves of their own by the end of the week, and once they received them recommended that I start an Etsy site to share the awesomely warm scarves with others. I finally dove in to Etsy in October 2011, and soon after added the cross-stitching I had been doing since high school.
While most of my cross-stitches are from store-bought "kits" which are designed by others (and totally, 100% stitched by me using their designs), I have and will continue to make my own designs, as requested. While I have the designs and my favorite sizes for knit scarves and blankets, I can and will work with buyers to adjust colors, sizes, etc on every item in my shop. Since it is all handmade, and I can make things to order, you and I have the final say in what the piece will look like. I have, for example, made scarves both skinnier (5inches instead of 9inches) and longer (12feet instead of 6feet), and removed or changed script or colors on cross-stitches. Please let me know how I can customize or design something for you!

Hi, I'm Jayne! I love cross-stitching and knitting, so Etsy was the perfect forum for my craftiness. I can design my own pieces, as requested, and modify any of the pieces listed on my shop page, so please let me know what you'd like!

Payment
I happily accept PayPal or Etsy's new Direct Checkout, where you can use your credit card without leaving the Etsy site.

What is PAYPAL?
If you decide that you would like something and you would like to pay with a credit or debit card, choose the PayPal option in checkout. PayPal is a third party credit card processor that keeps all of your transaction information secure. You do *not* need your own PayPal account to use the service. If you have questions about how this works I'll be happy to assist you, or visit www.paypal.com for more information.
Shipping
I ship via USPS and pieces leave my house in 48 hours or less in most cases (orders placed on weekends/holidays and custom/personalized pieces may take a little longer). Shipping costs are approximated and include the actual cost of shipping plus a small amount to cover the cost of shipping supplies and materials. In most cases, I have calculated shipping with Flat Rate (domestic) services; I like Flat Rate because it's a standard rate for the whole country, and if it fits it ships. It is also much faster, taking 2-3 days instead of about a week. However, if you would like cheaper (parcel post) service, please let me know and I can calculate the costs and either refund the difference (if you have completed the purchase) or set a custom listing for your item. If you would like to place a large order I'll be happy to work with you to adjust the shipping price, but you must convo me first to arrange this. I can also add additional services (insurance, delivery confirmation, etc.) at current USPS rates (https://www.usps.com/ship/insurance-and-extra-services.htm).
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
All of my items can be shipped internationally. For the scarves, I calculated the price to ship them (they're approximately 1lb, 6oz, packaged to ship) to a variety of countries around the world. Please ask me if your country is not listed. For the cross-stitches, I will have to calculate shipping based on size and whether you have chosen to get a frame from me. For all items, I have calculated/planned to use the cheapest option (USPS First Class Mail International) which is not necessarily the fastest option. I can upgrade if you need it faster, but First Class is the most economical option.
If the shipping price turns out to be significantly less to ship to your destination I will refund the difference via PayPal (or another method; will convo to confirm).
Note that I do not pay any duties, customs fees, or any other associated fees. These are the responsibility of the buyer if their country charges these types of fees. Please be aware of customs information including any fees that may be incurred on your end before purchasing. This information can be found at your local post office or on the web. Every country varies. If you have any questions or concerns about these policies please let me know and I'll be happy to explain further.

Refunds and Exchanges
RETURN POLICY
I take great pride in my work and I hope that you love the things I make for you. However, if you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason simply notify me by email, send the piece back in good/unused condition within 14 days, and I will refund your purchase price & original shipping fee. Note, however, that I will not refund the price of return shipping.

AVAILABILITY OF MATERIALS: For custom orders, materials (ie your color choice of yarn) may not be on-hand. For those colors that must be ordered online, please be aware that this may delay your order by up to two weeks. If the materials cannot be acquired, I can offer you either another color choice, or a refund.

I strive to always represent my products fairly and honestly but between different "generations" of the same item (ie if I have made an item before and am making it a second or third time, etc) there may be a slight variation in colors used. This largely pertains to the cross-stitched items. Your item may differ slightly from the pictured item, but I do attempt to add new pictures each time I make an item so that buyers are aware of different shades. When multiple pictures are available, I also attempt to identify which picture is the item available and which are items I have already sold. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this policy.
Additional policies and FAQs
Scarves, cross-stitch, and baby blankets, especially custom orders, may take some time to complete. I can estimate how long it will take to complete your order, but please bear in mind that it may take up to three weeks (after acquiring all materials) to complete.

My scarves and blankets are sure to last! The yarns I use are machine-washable and dryable, and while some pilling is normal, the needlework stands the test of time--even in the blankets of my three-year-old twin nephews, which they sleep with every night since they were born! My cross-stitches are offered in a frame (if applicable), or I can recommend a size of a picture frame for you to get. Framing your cross-stitch can not only add the finishing touch to your piece, but also keep it in mint condition!

I have a smoke-free home, although I do occasionally take pieces out with me to complete while I'm out and about. Please contact me regarding the composition of materials (yarn etc) if you have allergies or other concerns.

I am new to Etsy, so these policies are not comprehensive, and they are flexible. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
