Announcement   After quite a lengthy hiatus I am back on the Etsy grid. I will say with pride and certainty that my soda and beer can creations are still the best, and they withstand the test of time. I will also say that my PVC creations are still #1 as that was a great process of trial and error!

Other than that, I've gotten into some new things, still have some old things, and hope that my faithful will return to me after about three years!

Big News! My recycled creations have now been featured by both Coca-Cola and Red Bull! I figure if you're going to try to do something, like make flowers out of other people's trash, why not strive for excellence? So, feeling pretty excited about the recognition, and reminding you to buy them now before I get too full of myself!

Creative Creations and Fun Finds!

I make efforts to make my world better by recycling, up-cycling and reusing...beyond using recycled materials in my crafty creations, I consider antiques and other finds to be their own "recycling" as nothing new is being made, so it's all a win/win!

From creative mirrors and soda can flowers to fun vintage finds...I've got it all, and if I don't, I'll make it!

Some Soda Can Specific Information:
Custom orders are always available, have a favorite soft drink or beer? I have the technology (and a huge neighborhood recycling center!)

Some PVC Specific Information:
-I use schedule-40 PVC, in various diameters.
-All PVC is cleaned and stripped
-PVC is cut cleanly with a power miter saw
-Unless otherwise requested or specified, ornaments are attached using a removable gum type product. This allows you to move ornaments around, customize your wreath with your own ornaments, etc.
-PVC is glued using industrial adhesive made specifically for PVC and all PVC creations are made to be able to withstand the elements. Anything made from PVC is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
-All items are unique, and custom orders may be available (but remember, it's just me, 2 dachshunds and a toddler so I'm the only one who can use the power tools and the chemicals!)

PVC Kits include all pipe necessary to make items. All PVC is cleaned and smoothly cut with a precision miter saw.

Due to hazardous material regulations, PVC Cement is NOT included in kits (however, kits are for products that may not need glue...but the cement is available at your local hardware store).

A little About Me:
In the first chapters of my life I was a business owner, social worker and worked in corporate and business meetings....then I had a wonderful surprise a little late in the game! High-powered, jet-set Palm Beach life was replaced with making a life with my daughter in the mountains. I can make (and do make) just about anything. I also spend some time looking for lost treasures anywhere from estate sales to thrift stores to construction sites and yes, even the odd dumpster here and there! It's a challenge to say the least; however, there's not a whole lot of options out here in the middle of nowhere! What amazing rewards I have reaped from it, I have a future rocket scientist for a daughter and get to pursue my odd long lost passions (crafts and treasure hunting).

I placed an order and was charged but still have not received my mirror. Tracking info was very limited so I contacted the shop owner through email twice and haven't even received a reply from her. extremely disappointed as this is my first etsy purchase gone bad

About

Shifting Gears

I started this crazy journey during my pregnancy after returning to the mountains for a mandatory six months of bedrest! Having worked in business for many years, I found that I had a great deal of time on my hands and a whole lot of creative energy to expel! I started making everything I could think of...the PVC craze began with the child-proofing of my home and ended up turning into playhouses and wreaths, the soda can flowers emerged out of a need to make something with very little overhead and a lack of embarrassment about digging through our community's recycle bin.

Having been recognized by Coca-Cola and several other soda and beer companies, I now feel that the flowers have come full circle into the wonderful creatures they are today.

A perfectionist in many of my endeavors, I continually look for ways to make my products better and more interesting. I am hoping to be back at the beach before winter's end, and hoping that Etsy will help me get there!
