Additional policies and FAQs
Permanent decals are made with Oracal 651 which is a permanent adhesive backed vinyl. It is rated for 5-6 years outdoor exposure. They are easy to apply and last for long periods of time, even in bad weather. This is permanent vinyl and is meant to be applied to smooth surfaces such as windows, computer, tumblers and other hard surfaces, etc. This is not suitable for material or clothing.
What is a Temporary decal?
Temporary decals are made with Oracal 631 which has a temporary adhesive. They have a matte finish and can be easily applied and then removed from smooth surfaces like walls and phone cases without leaving a residue behind.
How do I apply my decal?
1. Clean surface with rubbing alcohol. Do not use window cleaner or other ammonia-based cleaners. Allow to dry.
2. Lay decal face down and peel away the paper backing slowly, making sure the vinyl decal stays on the transfer tape.
3. Carefully apply the decal to the surface starting with one side and using and old credit card or something similar to flatten decal. Rub decal with pressure for good adhesion.
4. Carefully remove the clear transfer tape by peeling up one corner of the transfer sheet. If the decal begins to come up push it back down and rub it with credit card to help adhere it. Only the decal should remain.
Care instructions
These decals are water proof and can be washed with soap and water. Weather and wear are a huge factor in the life of your decal.
What is Heat Transfer Vinyl?
HTV, or heat transfer vinyl, is a polyurethane material that allows you to create a custom shirt or other item by adding it to fabric, like a tshirt or tote bag. These decals are sent to you on a plastic transfer sheet.
1. You will need to use a hot iron at approximately 305 degrees F to press and preheat the item you are adding your decal to.
2. You will then place your decal with the clear transfer sheet facing up onto the fabric where you want it to stay.
3. Cover your decal with a thin piece of cotton fabric or a piece of parchment paper and apply pressure straight down onto the decal for 10-15 seconds. Make sure to apply as much pressure as possible to ensure that the decal adheres to your fabric and make sure to apply pressure to the entire decal.
4. Test it by carefully peeling up a corner of the transfer sheet. If the decal comes up with it then apply more pressure with your iron until you can see the texture of the fibers in the fabric through the vinyl. I recommend pressing again with parchment paper or a cotton fabric over the decal after pulling up the transfer sheet to make sure it is really set.
I recommend washing items with HTV in cold water and hanging to dry to keep it looking new.
