Announcement    **PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING!!**
Due to the worldwide COVID-19 crisis, international post is experiencing severe delays. Airmail is again being accepted to most countries, but flights are still limited, resulting in shipping delays. The current world situation means shipping times cannot be guaranteed or forecasted.

I highly recommend purchasing the registered shipping option. ¥450 is a small price to pay for peace of mind and you can follow your package as it tours the world. Please note that the USA is not accepting registered mail at this time.

Welcome to my Etsy shop in historic Kyoto, Japan. I've used a wide range of eco bags myself and have designed my bags to combine the best features of all. If you walk to the market, these bags are great because they are strong, lightweight, and will not hit against your legs like plastic shopping bag designs do. The fabric handles are soft and will not dig into your hands like nylon handles. These bags fold up small so you can always have one on hand in your purse. Thanks for stopping in and I'm looking forward to your next visit!

Also, please surf on over to my sister's Etsy shop if you have a moment. She does fabulous paintings of animals. She happily takes commissions so if you have a favorite picture of your pet, she will paint a fantastic portrait for you! Her work is truly remarkable so please stop by her shop. My Bunnies 3 can be found at https://www.etsy.com/shop/mybunnies3?

P.S. I use pretty Japanese commemorative stamps to mail your purchase, so let me know if there is any particular design you would like. Japanese stamps are truly little treasures.

P.P.S. Many of my items are sold simultaneously in my Minne shop. There is a remote possibility that an item might sell out overnight there while still being listed in my Etsy shop. I appreciate your understanding in these very rare cases.

About CraftyTokyoMama

Sales 1,112
On Etsy since 2008

I love bags!

I collected paper bags throughout childhood. It was when I had to make a tote bag by hand for my daughter when she started preschool that the bag making bug bit. Japan has beautiful fabrics that are perfect for my tailored tight’n’ tidy tote bags. As an American who has made my home in Japan, I have a special fondness for American Western prints and traditional Japanese designs.

Shop policies

Welcome to my shop policy page. I make my eco bags using remnants, making most of them one-of-a-kind items. If a particular fabric tickles your fancy, I recommend you grab it while you can!

Shipping
Your item will be shipped from the Japanese post office via Small Packet (or surface mail if your country is not accepting air mail), Monday through Friday. This rate does not include tracking, so if you want your item tracked, let me know and I'll be happy to arrange it with the post office. Tracking costs an additional $4 and may be purchased as an option at checkout.

Shipping generally takes about 10 to 14 days to reach most places on the planet, however, recently I've had packages take up to eight weeks. If you would prefer EMS shipping to guarantee quick delivery, I would be happy to set that up with the post office and quote you the additional shipping fee.

I honestly recommend paying the extra $4 for tracking via registered mail. It is a small fee yet gives you so much peace of mind to be able to track your package as it travels around the planet. Just select Registered Mail in the Shipping Upgrade menu when you check out. Please note that registered mail can only be sent from a post office on regular business days, not weekends or holidays.

I am happy to ship anywhere in the world Japan Post can ship to.
Additional policies and FAQs
I love Japanese postage stamps and have quite a variety that I can use to ship your item. If you like any particular subjects (castles, flowers, cartoons, scenery, temples, animals, trains) let me know and I'll try to use some on your package.
