A+ artist/craftsperson and seller. Handweaving is gorgeous. I love the poncho. Perfect length and colors are jewel-like. Thank you for your quick shipping.

I am passionate about weaving! After learning to crochet from my grandmother, and to sew and quilt from my mother and other grandmother, I have been working with fiber since childhood. I have sewn my own clothes since grade school. When I joined the faculty of Cornell College as a professor of French and later of Women's Studies, the one fiber art I was curious to learn was weaving. Our fabulous fiber expert, Vivien Heywood, allowed me to sit in on her beginning weaving course in 1982. I was hooked! Alas, on my salary, I couldn't afford a loom. Several years later, I found a rigid heddle loom in an antique store and began to weave in earnest. When carpal tunnel syndrome prevented me from quilting and crocheting, I decided to take the plunge and bought a 4-harness table loom in 1992. I have been weaving constantly ever since. I love to make clothes for myself, my life partner, and friends. Household linens, rugs, and tapestry are also favorite projects. Lots of looms and spinning wheels later (some of which I made myself), I am now retired, living on beautiful Crane Cove at the Lake of the Ozarks, and still learning new weave structures. I received the Certificate of Excellence in Weaving from the Handweavers Guild of America in 2012 (my first year of retirement) and have been busy teaching, sharing ideas with my friends in the Lake Area Fiber Artists group, and taking classes in dying, spinning, and, of course, weaving.
