I am a functional potter (and art teacher) living near Saint Louis, Missouri. After taking a few years off to concentrate on being the best art teacher that I could be (coupled with adding a fourth child to the mix!), I am back in the studio and excited to begin creating some beautiful serving pieces! I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art with a concentration in Ceramics from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

I am interested in creating functional “everyday” vessels. I am constantly searching for creative ways that combine this functionality with elegance and beauty. Most of my pieces are thrown and then altered right on the wheel so that I can capture and record the responsiveness and tactile nature of the clay. I currently utilize different stoneware clays and I glaze using cone 6 glazes.

Creating and then passing on an object that is chosen over and over again for a daily meal, a morning routine, or a nightly ritual is truly an honor not shared by many artists. I strive to be the creator of your favorite serving piece, coffee mug, or teapot that is used every day.

I offer functional pottery that makes a unique and thoughtful gift for a loved one, or for yourself! Pair a mug or two with a favorite coffee for a thoughtful gift. Or, combine a set of soup bowls paired with a gourmet soup mix? Please let me know if you are looking for something in specific as I create custom orders to suit your needs!

Welcome to my Etsy Shop! All of my pieces are 100% handmade by me and while I can duplicate items for a set or items that I have made in the past, all of my pieces are individual and will vary slightly. I will do my best to describe the colors and finishes of the pieces, however, images are usually the best resource.

I typically throw pieces on my treadle wheel and then alter right then and there. I do offer some slab work which is usually altered as well to give character. I hope you enjoy my artistic expression in clay!
