About

A tidbit about the makers

Cream City Rocks is a creative duo consisting of Hillery and Robyn. Friends for over 10 years, they share many common interests; both are mothers to two boys, work at the same non-profit company during the day, and really needed a creative outlet outside of daily life. Initially they began making jewelry just for fun but instantly became hooked on the creative process and execution. They wanted to share their love of jewelry with others, and that is how Cream City Rocks was born. Both ladies hail from Milwaukee which is also known as "The Cream City". They felt it was important to pay homage to their beloved hometown and make mention of their love of rocks. The name therefore actually has a double meaning. Both gals take interest in the healing power of crystals and searching shorelines for eye catching stones. Many pieces are crafted using semi-precious stones like amethyst and labradorite and metals like gold and silver. Seed beads became a notable love for the ladies as well but initially they were unsure of how to incorporate them in a way that would really showcase the amazing array of colors available. Teaching themselves how to weave beads onto various metal shapes was the beginning of their signature "dangly down" earring style. A lot of thought and care goes into each design, from start to finish. Patterns are drawn up on seed bead graph paper and colors are methodically chosen. Each bead is handwoven together one at a time using a needle and thread or hand strung onto beading wire. Much of their inspiration comes from their fondness of nature. From flowers to birds, rolling fields and mountain peaks, colors and patterns have offered themselves unknowingly. They really love to see the entire creative process to fruition, and even more so when someone finds joy in the pieces as much as they do.

Additional Shop Policies:

Each one of our pieces is a handmade item, due to that nature there will of course be some slight varieties in each piece. We are fastidious and do our best to maintain consistency in a piece. We make a very serious effort to create unique, quality jewelry. Beads may slightly vary in shapes and sizes. Since many of our beads are natural stone, rock and crystal, it is common for them to have inclusions, variations and slight discolorations. We strive to chose elements that are as complimentary to each other as possible. These variations are really what make each piece unique. Please note that with beaded earrings, the longer and wider the bead work, there may be some folding and gapping. Even weather plays a factor in this.

Additional Item information:

We aim to capture each piece as true to life as possible in our pictures. If you should need any clarification on an item, please inquire. We would be happy to send you additional pictures, or answer any questions you may have.

Additional Shipping Information:

Once an item is shipped, if it is lost or stolen, it is the customers responsibility to file a claim with the post office. In the event that there are USPS shipping delays, please remember that this is entirely out of our control. If we could magically beam our lovelies to you we would, but we are also at the mercy of the USPS shipping services. Remember, we have put a lot of care into each of our pieces and are thrilled that you have deemed it worthy to adorn yourself with! We have to utmost confidence in the USPS delivery system but in the event that something does go awry on their end, please remember this was out of our hands. Please verify your address before purchase completion.

Care instructions

Beaded jewelry requires easy care, and following a few tips should keep your lovelies in tip top shape for years to come. Be gentle! Remember the beads are made of glass and are delicate. Please try not to drop them. We recommend that our beaded earrings be stored flat if possible. Hanging is acceptable as well, but you may see some gapping as the thread is made of Nylon and is flexible. With a GENTLE almost absent stroke of the earrings, this gap can be rectified. Do not pull or tug, this could cause the thread to break. Extreme humidity can also cause changes in the thread. We recommend avoiding places that have high levels of steam while wearing them. Our beaded necklaces often use beading wire, try not to bend or kink the wire.
