Create the world you envision, love with all your heart, and laugh in all your brilliance

That's my motto up there, because it's what I believe. If I wasn't creating, I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

I can't really remember a time before I fell in love with art, although I think I fell in love with a paintbrush the first time I made the most kickin' book cover in second grade. There was no looking back after that.

I started my first Etsy shop back in 2009, just after I graduated with my masters degree in landscape architecture. Art has always been at my core being and I couldn't escape it. This shop is a combination of my passions: illustration, painting, and surface design.

My hope is that my art will bring joy to people who see it and even more joy to people who make it their own. Thanks for being here. Thanks for supporting my art. Thanks for allowing me to do what I believe brings joy into this world!

You'll find me all around @joyfulroots, where I like to connect people to creativity, make magic with my art and design, and bring more joy into this world.
When I'm not online, my "real world life" takes place in a small farming town five miles from Mexico in Arizona on a high desert homestead. I get to look out my office window at some amazing mountains, our beautiful garden, and a lot of birds. Oh, if you want to win my heart, I'm a sucker for a good latte.

All of the designs seen here are my original artwork; however, I do use a few manufacturers so print some of my products, like fabric, pillow, iphone cases, and art prints. They include, iprintfromhome, Society6, and Spoonflower.

Owner, Maker, Designer, Photographer, Artist, Creator, Lover Of Art

I'm a joy cultivator and I do that by making happy art and helping others find the creativity inside them. I'm in love with bright colors and mixing medias. My inspiration is gleamed from my garden, plants, nature, and memories of my childhood.

Production partners

  • Inkthreadable

    United Kingdom

I design some of my products to be printed on certain goods. I'm the artist but I need help getting my art onto other products.

  • iprintfromhome

Buffalo, NY prints archival art quality prints for me.

  • Redbubble

    San Francisco, CA

Redbubble prints some of my tech products, like cell phone cases. I like that they offer durable cases that offer added protection and their printed colors are vibrant.

  • Spoonflower

    Durham, NC

I use Spoonflower to print my fabrics that I sell as bundles and yardage. All designs are created by me, and then printed in Spoonflower's Durham, North Carolina facility.

  • The Printful

    Chatsworth, CA

The Printful is a California based company that prints some of my products and ships them to my customers, so that I can make shipping more affordable and pass that savings to you. Their quality is excellent.

Custom and personalized orders

Please message me prior to ordering: I cannot guarantee that I can accommodate your request unless we have discussed your needs prior to you ordering. Thanks!

If you are requesting a custom order from me, I will require a 50% deposit to get started. We will discuss estimated turn-around time, and a completion date. I will require full payment before it is shipped. I will give you a look to see how things are coming along midway through (if you desire) and at this point you can specify small changes. Redoing colors or main elements of the painting will require starting over in most cases, resulting in extra charges. It is important for you to be as specific as possible during our original conversation.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Some of my items are drop shipped, and I'm sorry but I cannot offer wrapping services for those items.

For any other items (items in stock) please send me a private message or note at check-out to specify gift wrapping and a small custom note. Thanks!
