About

Knitting and spinning in the wilderness

I have been knitting for over 30 years, and spinning for over ten years. There is almost no day that goes by without me knitting or spinning something beautiful.

Together with my husband and three home schooled kids, I live and homestead in the Pacific Northwest wilderness, where winters are dark and rainy, and colorful yarn is absolutely essential to my sanity! Sometimes I wonder if I knit in order to stay sane and relaxed, given that I am a type A German over achiever.

My shop started when I found myself with a hefty surplus of felted purses I had made. After listing my first purses on Etsy and selling them right away, I decided that I was onto something. I started making felted hats, and they were also hugely popular. I added my handspun, handpainted yarn, handknit accessories and goat milk soap, made from the milk from my own goats.

Returns and exchanges
Please make sure to measure your head circumference before buying a hat to make sure it fits you. I don't accept returns because people feel funny about buying a hat that someone else has worn.
Please read through the descriptions of the other things I sell carefully, so you know color, dimensions and materials. Note that different monitors show colors differently, so please read the color descriptions.
If a seller returns an item, I will issue a refund for the amount of the item, not the shipping.
Payment
I accept Paypal, credit cards, and personal checks. I wait until the check has cleared to ship the item.
Shipping
Usually, I ship within two days of a purchase. If you want extra shipping insurance, please let me know.
If you want to return an item, you will be responsible for shipping costs.
Additional policies and FAQs
I happily do custom orders. What could be more fun than picking out a color you really love? Since I have to special order yarn for custom orders, I have to charge a bit more, depending on the quantity of yarn used. I will let you know in advance how much the total cost is.
