Unique Creations for the Modern Hippie

When I attend local crafts fairs, invariably there is one person who says "Oh, tie-dye! Is that still around?" And I have to say, "Yes!! It is." I love all the colors and patterns of tie-dye, but I like to think that I have added a new, modern and fun twist with my "Anything on a Tie Dye" line of shirts. Each is individually hand-dyed. Once the color is on, then comes the fun part of my job: finding just the perfect image for each one. All of the designs you see on my shirts are drawn free-hand by me. Because of the uniqueness of the process, no two shirts are ever exactly alike. Whatever you are into, I can put it on a tie-dye.

But shirts are not all you will find here at Creations by Maris. I also have appliqued baby bodysuits, funky knit baby leg warmers, fun pumpkin and fruit hats (not just for babies!), my super-popular double-layer touchscreen gloves, made-to-fit boot cuffs in sizes up to XXXL, dog cowls, emoticon party favors, and more.

If you can't find just what you like, please ask; I love custom orders. There is nothing more fun for me than trying out something new and different. Some of my best ideas for new items have come from you, my customers, and I am always happy to hear from you.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy looking around. I love to knit, crochet and do just about every other craft. Nothing makes me happier than to make a new, truly unique item whether it is a baby bodysuit, a crochet water bottle holder, or one of my custom "Anything on a Tie-Dye" shirts. My goal is to make each item I sell a one-of-a-kind creation that fits my buyer's individual personality. Please contact me with special orders; I'd love to make something that works just for you!

Returns and exchanges
I hope that you will be delighted with your purchase from my shop.

If an item is not as listed, is damaged upon receipt, or shows defects within the first 30 days when subject to normal use and care, please contact me and I will work with you to address the problem. I may ask that you send pictures of the damage and/or return the item. If the problem is inherent to the item and is not due to inappropriate use or care (eg. washing or drying knit and crocheted items not according to instructions), I will either replace the item at my expense or refund your total purchase price including shipping. *Please note that many of my items are hand-dyed. Each of these items is unique and their color is often not uniform. This is part of their charm and is not a defect. In addition, they may lose a little more color on the first few washes. This is also is normal and is not considered a defect.*

If the product is not defective but does not meet your expectations and you wish to return it, please contact me within 14 days of your receipt of the item. The item must be as new and unused. My preferred method in these cases is to refund the purchase price of the item upon receipt of the returned items. You will be responsible for both the initial and return shipping costs.
Payment
I accept Etsy direct check out as well as Paypal and Etsy gift cards. Payment is expected before items are shipped.
Shipping
Ready-made items usually ship the next business day. Please check shipping times on made to order items (you can do this by clicking on "shipping and policies" for the item you are interested in). If you have a deadline, please let me know and I will try to work with you. I am in the US and ship via USPS first-class mail. I have found this to be a very efficient and reliable way to ship. Domestic packages usually arrive in 3-5 days from their ship date.

*International buyers -- I am happy to ship internationally. International buyers are responsible for any customs or other duties.

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

All items are machine washable unless otherwise noted.
We recommend air drying of all knitted and crocheted items, including appliqued bodysuits and shirts.

Many of our items are hand-dyed. This gives them a unique appearance and no two are ever exactly alike. The color intensity may vary from garment to garment. This is a result of the dying process. Our dyed items are prewashed before they are shipped to you and will not run or shrink. We do, however, recommend washing dark or bright colors by themselves or with other similarly colored garments. Hand-dyed items may lose a small amount of color intensity over the first few washings (however they should not appear "washed out"). This is normal and is not considered a defect.

Custom and personalized orders

Many of my items are custom-made in the size and color of your choosing. Please note processing times. At busy periods (typically Nov-Dec) these may be extended. Please message me ahead of time if you are working with a deadline and I will do my best to accommodate you.

My "Anything on a Tie-Dye" custom shirts typically take at least a week to make as there is a process for setting and drying both the dye and the ink. Again, please message me if you need your order by a certain date.
