Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Welcome to my shop and a part of my life. I make jewelry using my own enameled pieces, beads, silver, copper, anodized aluminum, repurposed metal and beads, chain, repurposed anagram tiles, gemstones, repurposed cookie tins, sea glass, found objects, or anything that inspires a creation.
I am the mother of two, a teenaged boy and pre-teen girl. I am passionate about finding items to reuse/resell whether it be beads, furniture or a quirky vintage tin. And, yes, I do wander around the neighborhood picking through people's curbside "trash" 'cause if I can't use it, I will donate it rather than envision it in the landfill. Most anything can have new life, including one's dreams, ambitions, loves, hopes, and creative pursuits. This is my experience.
Thanks for visiting and convo just for the heck of it!

Enameled bracelets formed on the hydraulic press.

Before Scrabble, there were anagram tiles. From the 50s and before, these have been sealed to be worn as a pendant.

Stenciled enameled pendant with a dot of fine silver as a focal point. Greens, blues, and purples.

Sideways cross bracelets made with metal from harvested from brass planters, found copper and sources. Anodized aluminum
An expression of faith.
After Audrey was born, now eight, our babysitter was wearing a cute bracelet that she had made herself. She said it was easy. From those words to my first class seems like a lifetime ago. I took my first class from the Artful Bead in Carrollton that taught me basic beading, but that wasn't enough. I was hooked, totally. I had to have more of the art of jewelry making.
I began taking a fabricating class at our junior college, Brookhaven. Fabricating means that I have a stone, a sheet of metal, or whatever else and use fire, the heat of a kiln, hammers and other weird methods to create something out of nothing. I made this?! To me, a whole exciting world of creating opened up. Life took on new meaning and I still take the class after six years.
So, when the cost of silver skyrocketed, I started using copper and enamels. To see a simple piece of metal transform using powdered colored glass and heat, is amazing. No two pieces will ever be the same; truly one-of-a-kind (OOAK). Again, love at first sprinkling (of the enamel).
My pieces reflect my growing repertoire of techniques in all things jewelry. I use as many repurposed metals and materials that I can get my hands on through estate sales, thrift shopping, and curb-side finds. I call my creative self psychotic due to the jumps I make in materials and processes. What grabs me is color, or texture, or how can I make this into jewelry? I constantly am thinking about my next piece or two. I know I get my creative input from God. I certainly can't do all I do on my own!
Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.

Ellie
Household Matron
Our first dog. She was found walking along a busy street flea bitten & malnourished. When I went to see her after she had been transported to the pound, her ears went down & she had the "save me" look. We saved her or she saved us, not sure which.

Lucy
Barker
Lucy was adopted from the Garland pound just before her last day was near. She looks like our beloved Ellie but smaller. She is three-years old and a joy in our lives.

Charlie
Yippey Dog
Charlie came to us after my beloved Sammie girl died. He is a Rat Terrier and can get quite loud when a fly passes by the window. He bounces a little when barking, which his only saving grace. Love my Charlie dog.
