For the love of all things embroidery
My grandmother taught me embroidery and various other fiber arts when I was a child. I picked hand embroidery back up during my college years in nursing school as a creative outlet that helped me to decompress from the stress of the everyday.
All of my embroideries are designed by myself and made meticulously with love and hard work. The goal of Crewel Ghoul is to celebrate an old handcraft by adding a modern twist to it. The beauty of handmade is that no one item is completely alike, and the flaws and irregularities are what make it so special. In a world that is so digitized, it feels good to add something imperfect and tangible into the mix.
All chain stitch patches available in the shop are stitched on an antique Singer chain stitch machine that was made between 1910-1940. This machine produces embroidery with a very distinct and unique look. Antique chain stitch machines are different from modern-day embroidery machines because they are controlled by a handle under the machine.

Can you embroider more than one pet in a pet portrait embroidery?
Yes, I can! In order to get the best detail in the portrait(s) the smallest hoop I can stitch two pets in is a 6 inch hoop. If you're looking to get more than 2 pets in a hoop, please message me so we can discuss sizing options!
What is the turn around time for a custom pet portrait embroidery?
My current turn around time for pet portraits is 4-6 weeks.
