clean, bright illustrations printed on stationery & books

My name is Leah Ammerman, and my business is cricicis design (pronounced CRICK-a-sis).
I'm a graphic designer and illustrator working in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, specializing in note cards, boxes, hand-bound journals, wedding invitations and custom bookplates. These items feature clean, bright illustrations which are drawn by hand or digitally in Illustrator. My work is generally minimal, with a big attention to detail.
My creative process starts with naturally having lots of paper laying around everywhere I look. Many of my illustrations are of actual objects you might find in my workspace, like cats and airport chairs. A lot of my note card, bookplate and notebook illustrations are often leftover sketches from other jobs that I couldn’t bear to toss. I’m glad that sometimes other people also find them charming enough to want to stick them in all their books, or carry them around in their pocket in the form of a notebook.
I’d also like to note that the majority of my paper and envelope stock is left-over from various design jobs. I like to mix-and-match. Sometimes an illustration sketch prints perfectly on paper scraps I already have. That’s when a note card is born.
I’ve been selling my paper goods on since 2007. Besides introducing me to many wonderful online customers and clients, it has given me various opportunities to branch out my brand by selling wholesale and in craft fairs and markets.
You can find my work in Charlotte Rivers' book, I Heart Stationery, and in various shops in the Boston area.
