The Scotch Tape Doll House
When I was eight, my father got stationed on Guam and brought us with him. Due to some glitch somewhere, we ended up living in a hotel, without our belongings, for three months. To amuse myself, I built a two-story dollhouse, with furniture and people, out of Kleenex and Scotch tape. My brain loved imagining all the little details and how to create them out of Kleenex. That is my earliest memory of making something and not much has changed.
I began painting and drawing at a very early age also. I love to express myself with watercolors, pencils, charcoal and crayons. My diversity in my work used to confuse me and make me feel scattered, but now I joyfully embrace my many facets.
I also sew, imagine and create things all the time! I draw inspiration from everything around me! I love to make useful items as well as things that are just fun. I love terms like homemade and rustic that tell the beholder to expect the beauty in imperfections. I never say never and hope I can can create, paint and invent for always!
