Please note that Etsy now charges VAT on top of your order while checking out so you shouldn't pay a custom charge upon receipt of your parcel. Please get in touch if there's an issue with this so we are able to assist you.


We ship all orders via Royal Mail 2nd class unless you purchase an upgrade at check out. If your order is less than 4 spools of cord it will be sent with standard post, for 4+ you will automatically qualify for tracked and signed service.

You have probably noticed that our shipping costs are very competitive. This is because we ship via normal post (Standard Air mail international) but there is no way to trace our packages.
If the item doesn't get delivered it will often return to the sender and very rarely the item gets lost. In case you don't get the item you will have to contact me directly to try and solve the situation. Please make sure your shipping address is correct.
In case you want to be 100% sure you will need to pay for a delivery upgrade -available in your cart at check out- and we'll provide a tracking number for you to trace the parcel. We strongly recommend this if you intend to purchase more than 5 spools.

Due to the steep increase of prices to the US we are now shipping spools with standard post - non tracked - when the order is inferior to 4 bobbins, 5+ bobbins automatically qualify for tracked and insured post.
We can also arrange express delivery (3 days) for an extra charge, please get in touch as rates change frequently.

SHIPPING TIMES vary hugely depending on customs and busy periods, these are some guidelines:

UK 2nd class- 3 to 5 working days
UK 1st class- 1 to 3 working days
EUROPE EU- 1 to 2 weeks
USA- 2 to 4 weeks
AUSTRALIA AND ASIA- 3 to 5 weeks

How do you ship your parcels?

During the virus pandemic we decided to offer only tracked postage option at check out as a safety measure.
Now that things seem to be settling down again and fairly normal postage services have resumed we are offering non tracked services again to keep your costs down.
We hope you realise that this means you cannot track your package and some delays can occur, please purchase a tracked upgrade at check out for peace of mind.


I'm passionate against single use plastic so any plastic envelope you will find in my packages are recycled from previous orders I received myself. Unfortunately I'm still finding a way to ship international packages safely so for now they are currently posted in padded envelopes (produced by a carbon neutral company) which are made of 50 per cent recycled material and are also recyclable. My posting labels are small and easy to remove so I hope you can keep these envelopes for you own use, alternatively the padded lining can be removed and used as wrapping. All the tissue I use is ammonia free and so compostable.
Linhasita rolls unfortunately come pre wrapped in plastic but this is to prevent the cord from getting dirty!

Colour of spools

First of all please keep in mind that due to monitor calibration colours can vary slightly.
Also, we noticed during the years that some colours appear different even if the code is the same. This is because the amount of wax used in every batch can vary, making the cord appear darker as if it's wet.
We've also realised that people call colours with different names, if you try and google "burnt orange" a wide range of colours will come up. Please keep a note of the codes and maybe create your own sample diary for future purchases

Material details and care

LINHASITA WAXED CORD: We order directly from the Linhasita factory in Brasil so unfortunately we still don't have access to the whole colour range due to storage facility reasons. This is a polyester twine made of multiple strands and then waxed with a petroleum based product. Linhasita guarantees it's hypoallergenic.

BRASS: Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc and will naturally tarnish when exposed to oxygen or moisture.
To polish your brass findings at home our favourite household remedies are whitening toothpaste (white paste one works best) or ketchup. Smudge your pieces for 30/60 seconds and then clean with the aid of an old toothbrush.
