Cookie Cutters for Beautiful Cookies
You can now find all my cookie cutters here: www.cristinscookiecutters.com in stock and ready to ship.
I LOVE to bake and decorate cookies. I recently started making my own cookie cutters and have been asked to share that joy as well. My cookie cutters are specialty, detailed cookie cutters made with PLA plastic. The cutters can NOT go in the dishwasher or soak in hot water or be in direct heat. They have a nice thin edge, but I still recommend using chilled cookie dough and a little flour on the cookie cutters for best use since they are detailed designs. Feel free to use my design or create your own.
I am only offering limited quantities of my cookie cutters and only offering specific designs at certain times so that I can still focus on family and cookies too. Be sure to check my blog for various tutorials: www.cristinscookies.com and watch for Cookie Challenges on my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/cristinscookies
See below for recipes for cookies and icing. Have fun decorating cookies and I hope you'll share pictures! Note: I don't ship on Saturdays unless it's raining. If it's sunny, I'll be on my bicycle :-) Have fun baking!
Cookie Dough Recipe:
1 cup butter (2 sticks, room temperature)
1 cup sugar (I use bakers sugar for small granules)
1 large egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt (omit if butter is salted)
Mix butter and sugar until light and creamy (I let the mixer run for 3 minutes on low). Add egg and vanilla extract (again 3 minutes is a good amount of time to let these mix together). Combine flour, baking powder and salt together and add gradually to your cookie dough mixture. Beat until completely blended together, but don't over-mix once the flour is added. Wrap the cookie dough in plastic wrap or a gallon size baggie and refrigerate for a minimum of 6 hours or overnight. Roll out cookie dough and use your favorite cookie cutters to cut into shapes. Bake cookies at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes depending on the size and thickness of your cookies or just until the edges begin to slightly brown. Let the cookies cool completely and then enjoy decorating them!
Most cookie decorators use royal icing to decorate their cookies, so I'm providing you with a royal icing recipe. Personally I use a secret homemade glaze icing recipe (sorry but it's the only thing that I don't share). If you choose to try glaze icing, you can Google glaze icing recipes and you'll find a few that you can try. In the meantime, here is a royal icing recipe to get you started:
1 lb (or 4 cups) of confectioners powdered sugar
5 tbs meringue powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup warm water
Combine all ingredients in an electric mixer bowl. Mix on low speed for 7-10 minutes. If your icing is too thick, add warm water 1 tsp at a time. Color icing with your choice of food colorings.
The cookie cutters are made with food safe plastic. I keep the support material on the cookie cutters because it makes a soft place for my hands when I'm cutting out my cookies. The plastic and support material are NOT indestructible, so like anything else, take good care of your plastic cookie cutters. Pink is very special you know :-)
I am a cookie decorator that loves to make cookie cutters and share the joy. I am also a cyclist and a Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. I use Cristin's Cookies as a way to express my passion and provide tutorials and a way to help pay college tuition.

Additional policies and FAQs
A: Cookie cutters are HAND-WASH only. NO dishwasher, no soaking in hot water and no, you can not leave them in a hot car all day ;-) The heat will make them warp and lose their cute design.
Q: When will I receive my cookie cutters?
A: All orders ship within 2 business days. All items shown in my Etsy shop are IN STOCK and will ship from California within 2 business days after the order is placed.
If you need Priority Mail then you MUST include the Priority Mail listing option (2nd item listed in my Etsy shop, upgrade with $4 charge) with your order. I no longer offer the overnight delivery option. All packages weighing more than 12 ounces will automatically be upgraded to Priority Mail shipping.
Q: How do I place an order for a cookie cutter?
A: Click on an item to add it to your shopping cart, you will see that it says "select an option" and next to that is a small arrow. Click on that arrow to see the options. You have to choose one of these options: * Cutter & Tutorial Card - $7.00 or * Cookie Cutter Only - $6.00. Once you select one of those options, the item will go into your shopping cart and you can complete your purchase.
Q: Do you have a _______ cookie cutter?
A: You can see all my cookie cutters at a glance here: https://app.box.com/s/ycnjjyydvyy21oww1l4c
Q: Do you make custom request cookie cutters?
A: Yes, I have a long list of cookie cutter ideas floating around in my head, but if you need something before I have a chance to add it to my inventory, then there is a custom request listing in my Etsy shop just for you. I only accept a limited number of custom requests. Pricing, timeline and guidelines are all listed within that listing. The custom cookie cutter listing is always the first item in my Etsy shop and has all the details in the listing. Send me a picture or drawing of the item you want made into a cookie cutter and I'll let you know if it's a do-able design. Full details here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/130323831/custom-cookie-cutter-request-2-4-week?ref=shop_home_feat
Q: Do you offer discounts on large quantity orders?
A: No, I'm sorry. It takes me the same amount of time and material to make each cutter and I have a VERY hard time keeping them in stock, so it doesn't make sense for me to offer a discount when the profit margin is already low. I do offer free give-aways from time to time and special events, you can find out about those special events on my Cristin's Cookies page on Facebook: www.facebook.com/cristinscookies
Q: I would like to sell your products in my shop, do you sell wholesale at a discounted rate?
A: No, same answer as above. It takes me the same amount of time and material to make each cutter. I keep the prices low, so there isn't a large enough profit margin to offer discounts or to sell at wholesale.
Q: Can I copy your cookie picture when I purchase your cookie cutter?
A: Yes. On almost every cookie cutter listing, I've included an outlined cookie picture to use as a decorating option. Just click on that photo, then right click it and scroll down to "save picture as" and save it to your desktop or elsewhere on your computer and use it as your decorating guideline if you choose. I now offer tutorial cards with a picture suggestion on how to decorate the cookie and a picture of the completed cookie design. These come on a laminated card (business card size) so that you can refer to it when decorating your cookie or you can even put it in your Kopykake projector (if you have one) as a guide.
Q: Do you offer tutorials?
A: YES! I am a baker, just like you. I offer many tutorials and suggestions on how to decorate the cookies using my cookie cutters. You can see all the tutorials and blog posts here: www.cristinscookies.com
Q: Do your pink cookie cutters work with fondant?
A: Yes, I've been told by many that they use Cristin's Cookie Cutters for cookies, fondant, bread, play dough and even rice krispy treats!
Q: Are the cookie cutters indestructible?
A: No, like most things, you could break the product if you try hard enough. I will replace them if you can prove they arrived broken in shipment, but if you hit them with a rolling pin, I will not ;-) So please be gentle with those pretty pink cookie cutters and make lots of pretty cookies with them.
Q: Do you offer expedited shipping services?
A: Yes, there is a listing to purchase Priority Mail to ADD to your order if you need rushed shipping. I do not offer overnight shipping. All orders ship from California within 2 business days.
Q: If I purchase the cookie cutter, does it come with cookies?
A: I know this should be such a very obvious response, but I actually get this question. NO, as it says on each item, the listing is for COOKIE CUTTER ONLY. A $6 cookie cutter listing does NOT come with cookies!
Q: Do you offer recipes for cookies and icing?
A: Yes, in the "about" section of my Etsy shop, I've provided a yummy cookie recipe and a common royal icing recipe.
Q: What icing do you use on your cookies?
A: I use GLAZE icing on my cookies. It is my own secret homemade recipe and I'm sorry, but this is the one thing that I don't share. You can do a Google search for "glaze icing recipes" and you'll find several to try and tweak to what works best for you.
Q: Can I share my cookie pictures with you?
A: YES! I LOVE to see cookie photos from my cookie cutters! Please share on my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/cristinscookies and make sure to say your cookie page to bring fans to your site!
Q: How do I leave feedback on Etsy?
A: If you are happy with your purchase, positive feedback is much appreciated.
* Go to Etsy.com
* Right side, top bar, hover over "Your Account"
* Scroll down to "Purchases"
* This will take you to the purchased items awaiting feedback
* You can even add pictures of your cookies with each feedback where it says "Customer Appreciation Pictures"
Q: Do you sell your cookies?
A: Yes, I do, but this Etsy shop is for COOKIE CUTTERS ONLY because I do not ship cookies. Our new California Cottage Food Law does not allow for shipping sold cookies, so I only sell my cookies to those located in the Bay Area of California. If you are in the Bay Area and want cookies for an upcoming event, you can contact me at: cristinscookies [!at] gmail.com please include: *where you are located, *the date of your event, *how many cookies you want, and *which design/s you are interested in and I will check availability on my cookie schedule and get back to you right away.
Q: What are your cookie prices?
A: If you are in the Bay Area of California, you can send me a conversation or email with what cookies you're interested in, what date you need them, and how many cookies and I will send you more information on my cookies for your event.
Any other questions? Send me a conversation. I'm happy to help.
