About

Adventure has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.

"When you're a kid they tell you it's all... grow up. Get a job. Get married. Get a house. Have a kid, and that's it. But the truth is, the world is so much stranger than that. It's so much darker. And so much madder. And so much better." ~Elton Pope, Doctor Who

The thought of living an ordinary life was something that never appealed to me as a child. I could not imagine following the same path as everyone else; never having adventures or exploring the unexplored. To this day adventures are something that consume me. I regularly imagine what it would be like to live in a fantasy world full of enchanted creatures and magical abilities. The thought of being in any such world is enticing, and learning about the lore and backgrounds of so many mythological beings is quite interesting. I didn't know it as a child, but these thoughts were bound to take me on a journey that would change my life, allow me to inspire others with my once empty thoughts of adventure, and to influence the creation of something entirely new.

Until the age of 17 it felt as though I was just going through the motions of life, unsure of what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be. Then one day I discovered a crochet hook and skein of yarn hidden in the depths of an old craft closet. I quickly picked it up and began experimenting. As I began to teach myself crocheting I learned that it was such a soothing and relaxing activity. After just a short time, the calming rhythms then became a type of therapy as I battled episodes of my depression. It was at that time that crocheting became an escape, and I realized that doing it simply as a hobby did not satisfy my yearning.

This persistent urge to crochet grew more and more, and consequently guided me to open an online business. Soon after opening I became hooked (no pun intended) on creating my own brand and sharing it with the rest of the country (and quite possibly, the world). The challenges that running a business can bring are something I look forward to daily and I can honestly say that this line of work never gets dull.

To this day I am absolutely obsessed with the fantasy universe and everything it contains. I often wish I were an elf living in Middle Earth, with all the adventures and nature surrounding me. My goal has become sharing these inspirations and daydreams with the rest of the world. I hope to provide geeks and adventurous souls with enchanted wares and mythical beings, and to share with them my passions for adventure and knowledge of the unknown universe.

To say that I am thrilled to be the founder of such a business - to offer distinct quality fantasy wares and handmade enchanted creatures, and to be crocheting for a living - is very much an understatement. I am grateful that the hard times in my life have pushed me to support myself doing not only what I love, but to inspire others with my passion as well.

Custom and personalized orders

Custom and personalized orders are encouraged, and I will work with you closely to ensure your complete satisfaction. These orders will not be shipped until all details are confirmed by the buyer, therefore there will be no refunds on any personalized orders.

All details on product sizing are listed in the description of the respective listing. Please read all of the details to ensure you are ordering the correct size for your needs.

Refund requests must be submitted in writing on Etsy by 14 days after the item is received. Refunds are dependent on the return of the product in it's original condition. If evidence of the product being in use is available, that automatically disqualifies the right to a refund.

Can I get my order sooner than stated?

The current processing times are given at checkout for your order. I do offer a rush upgrades if a product is needed sooner. Buyers must contact the shop before placing the order to ensure that current work loads will allow for a rush upgrade.

The price of upgrades will vary depending on the size/cost of the order, and will be decided on a case by case basis.

Why choose CroChels?

The acrylic yarn used here at CroChels is one of the best choices for creating stuffed animals, as it holds a nice even dye and will retain its color after many, many washes in the machine. This allows for the product to continue being about as vibrant as the day it was created. Not all acrylic yarn is scratchy, either. In fact, the yarn used to create our products is a very soft brand of yarn that will keep the plush lovable for years to come. With so many allergies and intolerances to natural fibers, this yarn is also a great hypoallergenic alternative for those who need it, while also being a budget friendly yarn, in effort to keep the costs of the product as low as possible.
