Designer. Teacher. Maker.

I've been crafting in one way or another since my mother first allowed me to use scissors. From paper dolls and noodle art to perler beads and cross stitch and painting and drawing and making jewelry - I've just about tried it all! Except sewing. Blech. I'm pretty sure sewing is my nemesis!

I actually learned to crochet for the first time when I was about ten (my mother MADE me) and I hated it. I made two doilies and thought they were the ugliest thing ever! But I picked it back up in my early twenties and haven't looked back! I am now a Certified Crochet Instructor through the Craft Yarn Council and have been teaching crochet classes since 2013. I started designing in 2009 and my first published pattern appeared in Interweave Crochet Magazine in 2012. You can find my patterns on Ravelry as well as a selection of free patterns on my website and I also teach a few classes online through Skillshare.

I've participated in several community charity and art projects, including Something in the Water, an ongoing global eco-art project that was first displayed at the American Jewish Museum in Pittsburgh, PA in May of 2011. 2020 was my first year to participate in the 100 Day Project and it reminded me just how much I love to paint!

I was born and raised in Arkansas, in the countryside outside of a small rural town. I grew up surrounded by nature and often feel most at home when I’m walking alone down a wooded trail even today. Much of my design inspiration comes from the colors and shapes I see in nature and other scenery around me, from flowers and rocks to the flow of water down a stream to shrouded mountains in the distance.

I love to take a moment of inspiration and interpret it through a few of my favorite mediums, including crochet, of course, but also through spinning and painting. I'm excited to offer collections that will include both finished pieces and items that YOU can use to create something of your own! Collections may feature crochet designs, handspun yarn, coordinating stitch markers and shawl pins, finished crochet pieces, tapestries, color studies, and paintings.
