About

crochetroo

My Nana taught me to crochet when I was a child and it is a skill that I have developed over many years. When I graduated beyond the doily I began making up my own designs inspired by the flora and fauna of Australia. Living in Queensland there is a limit to how many crocheted rugs and hats one needs and Etsy provides me the opportunity to share with the world. This is not my Nanas crochet, but an extension of that skill into the wild and wacky.

Over the years I have constantly sought patterns but soon became bored with what was available here in Australia. I began coming up with my own quirky patterns, based on the native wildlife, and way of life. I detest bunnies. There are far too many rabbits in Australia without me crocheting any more! So the decision to be true to my heritage was simple and crochetroo was established in 2006. This was a tricky year for me personally, but the flip side was that my creativity was stirred. I am a binge crafter as the summer months aren't conducive to being surrounded by bales of wool. I love pure Australian wool; however nothing washes like synthetic so I use a range of fibres. My goal is to one day publish my own little crochet book and forever embarrass my kids by dedicating it to them.

Brisbane born, now Gold Coast resident, mother of four with a hectic professional life, crochet is my yoga. Given the choice of hitting the bottle or the hook at the end of the day, the hook won! I love colour, the eccentric & the ridiculous.

I have no crochet clones so I don't mass produce. This is a hobby, which I share with you and hope you enjoy the stories behind my designs. If you like a good yarn then visit my blog http://crochetroo.blogspot.com.au/

Please understand Australia is a long way away from the rest of world so it takes about 7 - 14 days for a package to arrive, and may take me a few hours to receive your message as we are in a different time zone.

With email delivery things can go astray so please check your details are correct. Also check your junk mail/ spam filter! If you don't receive anything from me within 2 days I would prefer you email me or convo me rather than leave a negative message via feedback.
