About

Crafting Attention Deficit Disorder

Working as a designer in the textile industry allows me to use my fine art background during the day - but I still need to create outside of the office. Years ago I started to play around with candle making, which didn't go well. So I switched to tarts, and then tried my hand at soap and I was hooked. For the last ten years that has been a tactile creative outlet and I have come up with a product I am very proud of.

Like many other creative types on etsy, I am always trying new things. I need to keep my hands and mind busy - something I got from my Mom who (to this day) still can't sit in front of the TV without doing a hem on a skirt or some needlepoint.

She is cleaning out her sewing room back in Wisconsin and I am listing her fabrics and notions here in my shop. There are some amazing finds after 70 years of collecting.

I expect that I will continue to learn and grow, and add new art or craft sections to the shop once I master something.

Orders should be paid for within 48 hours. If payment is not received, I reserve the right to cancel the transaction.
Please contact me if there is a delay or problems with Paypal.
Shipping
Typically your purchases will be shipped within 2 to 3 days of payment receipt. Most items will be shipped USPS First Class or Priority Mail, depending on weight and/or size of purchase.

Jewelry generally ships USPS, Multiple soaps or combination orders will ship Priority. Soap is really quite heavy :)

Most items under 13 ounces in total will ship USPS First Class Mail. Prices will vary.

Anything over that will ship Flat Rate Priority.
Most orders will not exceed a shipping cost of $13.95 within the US. International shipping will vary greatly depending on weight and destination.

Please be sure your Etsy address and PayPal payment address reflect your accurate shipping address; if they do not, you should contact me with the correct shipping address. I can not be held responsible for incorrect addresses given.

If you do not receive your order please contact me so we can track it together.

Packages are not insured on orders under $40.00, however I recommend insurance on anything over that.

Shipping soap and wax products in the heat of summer can sometimes be a gamble. I pack everything to protect it as much as possible, but if your carrier leaves your mail out in 98 degrees where the sun is beating down for hours, you could have a gooey mess. Sadly, your soaps and tarts wont look very pretty, but a couple hours in the fridge will make them completely usable. And they are non-returnable, non-refundable. I can always aim for package arrival on a 'cooler' day, and of course will ship to your office.

I work full time so I only ship two days a week. If I am traveling for work, I will be sure to post it on the front page.

I only ship jewelry and wine charms internationally at this time. But if you want to inquire about shipping soap or wax tarts overseas, I will consider it depending on the country and customs laws. Please convo me. I DO ship soap and tarts to Canada.

For customers outside the US:
You need to be aware that your own country's customs service may impose a range of import fees, taxes, tariffs, duties at the time of delivery. These are not in my control and I have no way of knowing when or if they will be imposed or how much they might be. For information you should contact your local customs agency.
Refunds and Exchanges
If for any reason you aren't satisfied with your jewelry please contact me so I can attempt to correct any problems. I take pride in my work and hope that you will love each piece I create.

Jewelry is not returnable or refundable for general wear and tear, however, if there is a repair that needs to be made, please contact me and I will see what can be done.

Soaps may not be returned once opened. However, I will exchange an unopened bar if a scent is not what you thought it was, but you will have to pay for shipping.

***Please test your soap on a small spot if you are sensitive to fragrances. Crown of Rue is not responsible for skin irritations should it happen. I use the highest quality fragrances and ingredients for my soaps, but I cannot guarantee that everyone will react the same way to these products.

Custom soap loaves are non-returnable, non-refundable.

Wax tarts are exchangeable, but you will have to pay for shipping. Most people find that passing a scent on to friends is easier if they find it doesn't smell the way they thought.
(But they ALL smell good!)
