Kansas City native Debbie Dusenberry opened Curious Sofa as a brick & mortar store on September 16, 2000 specializing in slip covered sofas, home decor and antiques. With an eye for buying and an unorthodox way of display, Debbie led Curious Sofa to be one of the nations top small retailers and a destination shop for customers from across the country.
For ten successful years Curious Sofa and Dusenberry's home were featured by many national, trade and local publications (Country Living, Romantic Homes, Where Women Create, Romantic Country, Better Homes & Gardens, Travel & Leisure) which led to a strong following on the shop's website and blog.
In January of 2011, Dusenberry closed her brick and mortar store to focus on internet sales only. Today her time is spent working her online business, styling magazine editorials, retail consulting and marketing, graphic design and hunting for original goods at various antique shows across the country.
2011- present: Online retailer, graphic designer, retail & business consultant and a constant antique shopper. 2000-2010: Owner, creator of Curious Sofa a retail boutique in Kansas City. 1980-2000: Photography stylist, makeup artist, costumer.
