About

Scrapbooking love turns vintage

It all started one day at Michael's craft store when I was sifting through the (then) dollar bins. I found 4 or 5 different patterns of farm/vintage rub-ons. I bought them because not only was it the dollar bin, but come to find out they were 70% off! By the time I got home, I wasn't sure what I would do with all of these rub-ons, but I just loved to look at them.

As I was looking through some of my scrapbooking paper, I thought it would be cute to create a utensil set of cards. I was hooked, I loved creating my own "custom" items that I decided to make more. And from there, is how I've started my inventory of items that I keep building on.

I am obsessed with ledgers, notebook paper, script writing, numbers, letters, and calligraphy on scrapbook papers. I love looking at old, nostalgic items that my family has kept over the years and find inspiration in those items as well as looking at old photos. For me, taking the photos for each listing is just as fun as the discovery process of making new items. I love finding new ways to display items and add different vintage props to give it that extra special feel.

I find much of my inspiration from movies, TV shows, and music. Most recently I have found inspiration from Downton Abbey, the "golden era", Walt Disney and his creative team in the 60s, and so much more!

I've lightly dabbled in actually creating my own designs in Photoshop and want to learn more so I can have them printed on cardstock or even create the digital files to be used in digital scrapbooking. I'm thinking possibly my own version of Project Life cards, cards, tags, titles, etc. Hopefully one day soon, I can realize that goal!

I've been scrapbooking for over 10 years and as my style has changed, I decided to start making more products of my own.

The feather stamp included in Cursive Feather's image brand, on certain products, and other shipping materials was provided by the lovely stamp shop called Creatiate on Etsy. It is one of the best hand carved stamps I have ever used--thank you again Sarah @ Creatiate. You should check out their selection of hand carved stamps: http://www.etsy.com/shop/creatiate
