Vintage clothing for the modern-day romantic ...

My love of vintage began as a high schooler in the early 1990s when I would take the bus over to the Haight to buy ' used clothes' in the thrift shops. Fast forward to 20 years later when I was laid off of my day job as a window dresser. A friend suggested I try selling some of my personal vintage collection on Etsy -- and from there Custard Heart Vintage was born. I run the shop out of my one bedroom apartment that sits high on a foggy hill in the Twin Peaks area of San Francisco.

I stock select pieces from the 1940s to the 1990s with an emphasis on the cheerful and colorful fashions of the 1960s.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

... and a big thank you to Miss Dorothy Parker for coming up with the shop's namesake (the short story, "the Custard Heart").

International orders ship First Class Parcel Post (it is the most economical) unless requested otherwise. This method of shipping DOES NOT come with a tracking number, only a customs number which cannot be used to trace packages, but does serve as proof of shipping. The U.S. Postal service requires that all international orders over 4 pounds ship via Priority Mail International which comes with a tracking number for movement within the U.S., however not traceable abroad. Any item over 4 lbs will automatically ship via Priority Mail International. Registered service comes with a traceable tracking number and costs an additional $15. Where did the the name, "Custard Heart" come from?

Though I do like to bake, it's not a dessert. It's the name of a short story by Dorothy Parker. If you ever come across it, it's a great read!
