5 out of 5 starsThis has been one of the best investments of my money and 10 days of my life! I admit I was a little hesitant at first, but I'm so glad that went ahead with this course. The lessons are solid, understandable, and readily applicable to my life. Not to mention the energy in each video is super energizing. A fantastic way to start the day! I highly recommend this course to anyone who's looking to make a confident and positive change in their life. I can certainly say that the change in my life this course made was a much wanted, much needed, and much appreciated one!

I started sewing because I wanted to look like a badass rock 'n roller....
...And at age 12 had no money to achieve that. So I ripped the curtains off my wall and made a really awesome skirt, which was actually hideous, but I was blissfully unaware (a trick I still employ from time to time). I got hooked sewing on my deceased grandmother's sewing machine and started rummaging through my closet for anything I could cut up and turn into wearable art.
It wasn't long before I got addicted to that feeling you get when you are wearing something that makes you feel creative, powerful, like yourself, and it got to where I was making everything I wore. My specialty was cutting up band shirts and turning them into corset/skirts/dresses and wearing them to concerts and making everyone else jealous;)
When I was 18 I started playing shows of my own, with my amazing bandmates in Icon For Hire. To my surprise, people seem as intrigued by the outfits as they were by the music. Fans started asking me to make them things.
I started Custom Catastrophes in 2011 as a way to share my take on style with our listeners, yes, but I had an ulterior motive: I was hoping to inspire people to make their own clothes, to make their own rules. I thought if our audience could see my messy, chaotic designs, they'd realize that sewing is way more HEART than SKILL, and maybe not be so scared to try it for themselves.
So that's what this is all about. I'm here to inspire you express yourself.
Have a look around and if you see something you life, you can purchase it knowing you're gonna get a one-of-a-kind, hand crafted item, with all my love sewn right in.
