I received this lovely bedspread today. It is exquisite! The silk fabric is much better in real life than in online photos. I cannot wait to enjoy it. I look forward to working with customdesigns4ubynan again for shams and possibly other custom made items for my new color theme. She was exceptional to work with and included a lovely card thanking me for the purchase. I highly recommend this seller.

I love to sew and be creative putting fabrics together. I let the materials talk to me, and design a cloth around my "conversation" with the print or colors of the various fabrics. Sometimes I have enough of one fabric to simply hem it and call it a bedspread for a single bed, like a child's bed. Mostly, though, I have a 36" yard cut or a 24" square sample of beautiful silks, some embroidered, some printed, some brocade, etc., and I piece these together with another silk or velvet to make a large bedspread for a full or queen or king size bed. These pieces take a long time to make, including the selection of fabrics and the design and engineering of the piece. You'll see bedspreads for $300, but I am also listing a child's bedspread for $100, because all it needed was hemming. I make pillows the same way, using left-over materials and designing and piecing them togather, with a zipper. I have a tablecloth for $150, and that is something from small quantities that I spent a lot of time on, designing and piecing together. I finish all my seams, either turning each side under and top-stitiching, or with heavier fabrics, just sewing the seam sides down. Thus, each seam actually requires 3 passes on the machine: 1st to sew the fabrics together, and then each side sewn down. I have taken pictures of the finished seams. I finish the seam that way to prevent raveling in the washing machine, and to strengthen the seam. I take pride in my pieces. If treated well, they will last a long time, and the large bedspreads could be passed on to another generation.
