Custom Zombie Portraits Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make any special requests?
I Was a Custom Zombie will fulfill simple requests (ex: “Don’t use the color green,” “Can you make my hair purple instead of blonde?”) but prefers to have creative freedom on their projects. Please inquire about your special requests before placing an order.
Do you do couple portraits?
Couple portraits are no problem! There is a $20 fee for adding a second person to the picture.
Do you do group portraits?
Group portraits are a possibility but please inquire with your specifics to receive an accurate answer and pricing.
What type of photo should I send?
Your photograph should be only of the subject you want zombified. Please send a clear photo taken on a plain, preferably contrasting, background (a solid color wall that is a different color than your clothing/skin/hair, for example). If you want your zombie to appear in a specific pose, it should be shown exactly as you want it in the photo you send.
Can I send a black and white photo?
Yes, a black and white photo is acceptable. However, the most detail can be gathered from a color photo. You may sacrifice some characteristics by sending a black and white version.
Can I mail my photos?
Photos are not accepted through the mail. Digital copies ensure the safety of your original photograph.
How do I get my photos to you?
Photos can be emailed to sales [!at] customzombie.com via your existing email service. Simply attach your files using the Attachment button, and send with your name and “custom zombie order” in the subject line.
What file type and size should I send?
Acceptable file types are JPEG, JPG, TIFF, BMP, and PSD. The file size should not exceed 10MB and resolution should be about 300dpi (no less than 200dpi). Digital files may need to be resized before sending.
What if I can't scan my pictures?
Most photo developing shops (Rite Aid, FedEx Kinkos, etc.) can scan your photos for you. Make sure they are scanned as JPGs with a minimum resolution of 200dpi.
Can I see a proof of my portrait before it is sent to me?
Yes, a proof will be emailed to you for your approval. Any modifications you desire will be made and an updated proof will be emailed to you. Refunds will not be given after you approve our work.
What is the turnaround time?
A rough draft for you to proof will be available 5 – 8 days after your order is placed, depending on the project.
When do I pay?
All payments are required before any work is begun.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept most major credit cards through PayPal. PayPal is the desired payment method but money orders can be accepted, as well. If paying by money order, email to place your order and receive the mailing address to send payment to.
Is your payment form secure?
PayPal uses SSL technology to keep your information safe. For in depth information please visit PayPal’s Security Center:
