The designer of this company is very very nice, she went out of her way to make me exactly what i wanted. the purse is absolutely adorable and perfect for what i was looking for!! i needed something that would hang in front of me so i could supervise my ferret and something that would secure her so she doesn't fall out, not to mention the bag is definately one of a kind!!! so so cute!!!

This was purchased as a birthday present for my 11 year old daughter. She was so thrilled to get it. It lays nicely on her and the strap doesn't fall off her shoulder. She likes to carry around her nook which fits perfectly inside this charming purse.

This handbag was just what I needed for a "special occasion" event. It was larger than what I expected and I'm glad it was. It laid perfectly on my lap during dinner and had plenty of space inside to fit my wallet, cosmetic bag, keys and eyeglass holder. Thank you again for your creativity!

The Second Time Around

Here I am, after nearly 30 years of "pounding the pavement," I finally found my calling.
In the second half of my life, I have been given the opportunity to grow, I mean REALLY grow. I never realized that it is possible to do what I love to do for a living. "How did this enlightenment happen?" you might ask. Oddly enough, it occurred to me after 4 years of returning to school and earning my BS in Technical Management. I realized, "this is not what I want to do with the rest of my life," but it did help me learn that I don't have to either.
During my return to school, I began redecorating my home, which led to creating bits and pieces for my home like pillows, curtains, appliance covers, etc. I had dabbled a bit in sewing and knitting prior, but never given the opportunity to truly use my abilities. This led to designing Halloween costumes, dresses, skirts, and knitted hats for my family. After having several people tell me that I needed to open up my own shop, and the fact that I needed to create my "Five Year Plan" for one of my classes, I began to research Etsy. I fell in love with the concept, but would never have expected to do any more about it. However, in 2011, I decided that I was going to take a "leap of fate" and create my shop, which I have to thank my husband for providing the support I needed to live my dream, and the name, "CYGI," which is the acronym for "Cover Your Grape." The "I" was needed to round out the name. I was doing very well with creating my own winter hats, so this was one of his many contributions in attaining my goal. After over a year later, and a BSTM under my belt, I was going to create my first five purses, which incidentally began with wanting to create a purse of my own. I couldn't stop, and ideas were popping in my head left and right. It was at this point that CYGI in the Bend came to fruition.
With each item I create, I view it as creating a piece of art, so it may take me days to complete. I think this is why I love what I am doing. I piece every item I create as I go along. I never know what idea will pop up in my head, but I sure enjoy the elements of the surprise.

I am an inventor at heart with a million ideas. I enjoy designing, but more so seeing my design come into fruition. I have decided that my goal, at this stage of my life, is to follow my dreams; loving what I do and doing what I love!
