Hand-Painted Silk Arts

Top shop for gifts.

Buyers bought gifts from this shop and gave them 5-star reviews!

Announcement    Welcome! I hand paint original pieces on silk: scarves, wraps and scarf-necklace hybrids and decorative altar/tarot cloths. If you don't see quite the right thing, please contact me to talk about a custom painting.

Each piece starts with a blank white silk. I draw in the lines and paint in the colors with a brush. Each one is original and no two are alike. Some are adorned with chains or stones to give extra texture.

Videos of my painting process are posted here so you can see:

I work from Sequoia Gallery + Studios at 136 SE Third Street, Hillsboro, Oregon, and can be found at art shows around the Pacific Northwest. The art show schedule can be found at www.cygnetsilks.com

ABOUT SCARF SIZES:

* Small - 8x54 inches: this is a very typical small scarf size. Good for the petite and for folks who don't like scarves too big or fluffy. Good for wearing with a single knot or wrapped around once.

* Medium - 11x60 inches: an average light scarf. Probably the size I sell the most often. If you aren't sure what size is best, this is a safe bet. Good for wearing with a single knot or wrapped around once, but with a little more play.

* Large - 14x72 inches: A bit more to play with. If you like a fluffier, bulkier scarf, or to wear it doubled in half, this is ideal. Wear it doubled or wrapped around a couple of times.

*Wrap - 22x90 inches: A luxurious size for a wrap round the shoulders, or a big scarf with lots of play.

*Necklaces: This is a cross between a scarf and a necklace. It's one circle that can be doubled up or worn open if you prefer. Great if you like a scarf but don't want anything bulky or stifling like some scarves can be.
