Announcement   My website with current studio ready-to-ship stock can be found at www.dahlhausart.com!
dahlhaus ceramics is handmade pottery inspired by my love of spring and gardens, vintage fabric, modern pop art, and color. All hand-made by me: Heather Dahl, in my little Vancouver studio where I wheel-throw, hand-build or slip-cast my original designs, and then hand-paint my own glazes onto my pots using a technique that I developed along with patterns and designs. No decals are used to glaze my work so it's all single glaze fired to cone 6 with foodsafe glazes, all mixed by me in my studio from scratch.
The utmost of love and care goes into making each and every pot that I make and I'm sure you will appreciate that every time you use it!

If you are interested in wholesaling my work, please take the time to email me at heather [!at] dahlhausart.com, and include your shop's website or blog so I can know a little bit about you! Minimum orders are $300 and there is often a 4-8 week lead-time for most orders.

Please read the my shop policies before purchasing. I do my best to ship within 3 business days of receiving your payment, but do convo me if you need an order shipped out pronto! Also note that I can't guarantee shipping deliveries and times, even though I do my best to label packages for swift border crossings. Please note that shipping rates do not include tracking numbers or insurance for loss due to shipping. Let me know if you would like additional shipping costs to include both tracking and insurance.

About

A story about dahlhaus

dahlhaus started a very long time ago, when I fell in love with clay and a boy around the same time. The boy and I got married and started a home together. Ceramics became a big part of my studies in school and my career path.

Fast forward a few years and 2 children later, I started my Etsy shop as a way to sell my work online. I have had my shop for a while, but it isn't the only source of selling my work. I also sell my work through galleries and shops, at craft fairs and through studio sales.

All my ceramics is handmade from scratch by me in my studio in Vancouver Canada. I usually start designing on the potters' wheel, where I create a form. Sometimes the best forms get made into production moulds to be slip-cast. The glazes are mixed by hand and applied as glaze inlay designs through the use of hand-cut stencils that mask off my designs. This 'paper-cut' method of creating designs informs my work along with my love of colour and pattern.

    Owner, Maker, Designer

I graduated from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in 2001, and then had my 2 boys and taught art while dreaming of being able to pursue art as a full-time maker. In 2007 I started dahlhaus studios and haven't looked back.

Accepted payment methods

Payment
paypal accepted. Mastercard and visa also accepted by phone. Items will be shipped only when payment is confirmed.
Shipping
Items will be shipped by ground in North America via Canada Post unless client requests otherwise. Upgrades or extra insurance or faster shipping costs may be requested for the additional fees. Unfortunately, shipping from Canada is quite expensive, so please keep this in mind.
Please remember that items crossing the boarder may be detained or slowed through customs and while I do my best to mark packages for speedy delivery, shipping time-lines and estimates are, in fact, estimations.
Local clients can forgo shipping costs if they want to swing by the studio to pick up item. A refund via paypal will be issued once arrangements have been made to pick up the item.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are completely dissatisfied with what you have received, please do convo me to work through your issue before leaving bad feed-back. I am committed to having people be thrilled to have a dahlhaus original! Your concerns will need to be stated within within 2 days of receiving the item.
I do my utmost to package your ceramics with great care. Please convo me if you notice any damage during shipping and I will replace or refund your order.
Additional policies and FAQs
In some cases there may be a slight difference between the ceramics in the photograph and the ceramics you receive in your order. The photographs are taken as an example of the piece you will receive and while great care is taken to replicate my designs, because I hand-make and hand glaze each piece, there will be slight differences in the recreation of that design. If you have any concerns regarding this, please convo me and I will do my utmost to remedy the situation. Thank you for understanding the nature of hand-made!
