About

Southern Collector/ Picker with a Love of All Things Old, Beautiful and Unusual

Welcome, and thank you for loving vintage as much as I do! I truly enjoy sharing my love of vintage clothing and collectibles with people like me who appreciate the unique.

*Please allow 3-5 days for processing and handling. If you need it quickly, please let me know ASAP so I can expedite your order.*

Look at all photos carefully and message me with any questions prior to purchase.

Exchange/Refund Criteria:

I will consider offering an exchange or refund, but only after I have received the item back using the same level of care that I had shipped it to the buyer, and it must arrive in the same condition that it was in when it left my hands originally. Buyer is responsible for paying the one way shipping cost of returning the item.

Daisy Lace Vintage Shop started in 2011 with a revived calling to "rescue" vintage clothing. I feel it is my duty to take these forsaken beauties to a new home where they can get the care, respect and display they deserve. Favorite items, which my shop tends to reflect, are little black dresses, evening gowns, costumes, funky prints, kitsch collectibles, faux fur and lace...from the Roaring '20s, to Mod and Midcentury, to the Totally Awesome '80s.

Since childhood, I have had a passion for antiques and costumes. I grew up in a house built in 1910 on the Indian River, and spent a lot of time wandering around, searching for old bottles and other hidden treasure. Weekend trips to the local fleamarket with my parents were frequent, so this may have contributed to my love of pickin.' But my hobby really took shape in the early '90s while living in Atlanta and Athens, Georgia. In the past 20 years, I could have filled a department store with all of the vintage goodies I have bought, sold and given away.

Thank goodness for Etsy! I truly enjoy sharing my love of vintage clothing and collectibles with people like me who appreciate the unique.

Exchange/Refund Criteria:

I will consider offering an exchange or refund, but only after I have received the item back, it must be shipped within three days of receipt, using the same level of care that I had shipped it to the buyer, and it must arrive in the same condition that it was in when it left my hands originally. Buyer is responsible for paying the one way shipping cost of returning the item.

All vintage shoes are refundable due to wide variances in sizes. For all other items, the only way I will consider an exchange/refund is if:

1. I did not measure it correctly; in which case you can feel free to dispute the measurements.
2. Another example is if I have grossly misrepresented the era; in which case if you can prove your dispute, I will offer a refund or exchange.
3. There is a major flaw that went undetected and you ship it back within 3 days of receipt of the item.

Please remember that most of my items are used unless otherwise noted. I try to find all flaws and report them in the description. Please read the description closely, including size measurements and condition. If you have any additional questions regarding an item, please feel free to contact me. I read and answer all messages. Remember that with most vintage there is a possibility that a minor flaw may go undetected.

Thank You and Happy Shopping!

Shipping
***Please allow 3-5 days for processing and handling. If you need it sooner, please let me know ASAP so I can expedite your order.***

I usually ship via USPS Priority unless I grossly underestimated the cost, in which case it will go parcel post. An exception would be if you indicated a rush shipment. Yes, I offer a discounted combined shipping cost if you purchase more than one item from my shop.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: I've tried to get the estimate as close as possible but there's always exceptions. The best case scenario for me is that if you are planning on buying an item, especially more than one, and you are outside of the U.S., please message me and I will put the items on reserve until I adjust the shipping.

Additional policies and FAQs
As I venture more into antiques, I find it imperative to discuss in depth the subject of flaws:

First of all, when it comes to vintage, antiques and salvage, there is a good chance that there will be a flaw, no matter how small or insignificant.

Secondly, I have found that through fixing a minor flaw, sometimes one makes it into a major flaw, which would lead to a total overhaul, and that is not ideal. This is primarily because these items are delicate and sometimes even just touching them compromises their integrity. I have had some items that literally deteriorate more and more every time I pick them up (like an old book or magazine).

Therefore, I PREFER to offer items "as is." And by "as-is" I don't mean broken. I mean a spot of paint has rubbed off, there is sticky residue from a price tag or food, or the metal is tarnished, for example. Touching it puts the item in greater risk, and I'd rather leave it intact. (Yes, I have ruined a few items trying to fix them.) Plus, I personally like the shabby chic, used and abused look for the sake of character, patina and aesthetics. I would rather keep something in its original vintage condition than paint it with a fresh coat of paint and make it look new. I spot clean my items from time to time and repair loose buttons. I never, ever alter a garment and I feel that it is a sin to take a vintage item and update it without calling it out as upcycled in the listing description.

Please be understanding that sometimes a minor flaw may go undetected especially in the interior of an item or garment. This is the nature of used, vintage and antique products.

All of my items are shipped from a pet-free, smoke-free environment. Always authentic. Always unique.
