DakotaGypsy is a great seller! A very fragile piece of art I purchased, arrived 3 days later safely. I would highly recommend their shop.

This item was perfect for the memorial wind chime I made! The seller was super nice and put an extra coat of sealer on it for me. It shipped super quickly! I highly recommend this seller.

From Hard Core Work & Schedules To A Family Of Laid Back Artists ... I Am Living My Dream As A Modern Day Gypsy ...
My parents & I are now a family of laid back, rural country folks that live in the Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. I, Dakota Gypsy have taught myself leather craft and a little glass fusing, my mom has taught herself gourd art, painting, wood burning and mosaic work and dear old dad has carved his entire life, works with antler and does so many different things in the art and craft world I cannot mention them all.
I now create my leather work, take a lot of road trips to various rodeos and new places and write a blog on my life style and experiences ...
I have a longer story full of information on us all below !! Please feel free to read away and please check out my blog ...
I grew up in Oregon and after College moved to Fairbanks, Alaska.
After some time in Fairbanks I accepted a job for Princess Tours as a Chef on The Midnight Sun Express Train from Anchorage to Fairbanks during the Summer months. That was way back in 1989. I worked there until 1993 and was Food & Beverage Manager when I left Princess.
The Winter of 1993 my mother, Judy and I started a Bakery in Anchorage, Alaska called Illusions Food Company. The Company grew very well and very nicely and was a great success.
We were preparing baked goods and food items for dozens of businesses, doing full catering and weddings plus had a bakery/coffee shop front of house before selling on Friday the 13th , November 1998.
We all then moved to Silver City, New Mexico, ( My Father, Mother and I) and purchased and started to re-model a 1920's life theatre ! Quite a change.
After two years of this with me becoming a roamer to San Diego, Arizona and other places we sold the Theater and all ended up in The Black Hills of South Dakota.
Once here we all made a major life change. We became Artists, gardeners, got chickens, started canning and baking and basically turned to a nicer older way of living.
I then started to travel in various vehicles all over the country meeting people and learning about new places.
I have even spent a 6 month jaunt with friends in a secluded village in central Mexico over the past 13 years..
It is during all these travels & adventures that people keep asking me to start a blog..
Now I will be posting stories and information on my travels & stories on daily life here at Home Base in Custer, SD.
