About

Handmade, colourful, nature inspired ceramics

I love the excitement of opening the kiln after firing, the treasures and surprises from the experiments conducted every time! I'm so inspired by the beauty of nature all around as I work in the garden whenever possible!

It all started when I was a small child making tiny bowls with clay scraped from behind the classroom, then bought my own potter's wheel and gas kiln in my late teens and worked as a sculptor in Dorset.

For many years there was no time or room to do pottery until my youngest started school, I went back to pottery lessons and was asked to help teach the class. With a bigger garden, my husband built my pottery studio under the damson trees, where I taught pottery and made my own work. We recently moved to a small farm in the beautiful Devon countryside where I work mostly outside. There is huge potential to develop a barn and run pottery teaching holidays.

My daughter Hannah helps with fashion and style tips and models my jewellery on Etsy and to her friends. My son Jonny designed and created my logo and shop banner and helps with technology and my husband and other sons help keep my equipment and finances in good working order!

I love working from home, creating my own ceramics and sharing them with others! Etsy provides such an incredible opportunity to connect with people locally and around the world.

Find out more about the making process and new collections in the pipeline on my Facebook page, damsontreepottery on Instagram and damsonpottery on Twitter.
