Everything I do has utilitarian origins. I did my first lino-cut 20+ years ago because I wanted hand-made holiday cards to give to family and friends. I started making one of a kind jewelry because I wanted to give unique gifts that couldn't be found in stores or catalogs. Whether carving layer cakes from wood, plasma cutting wind chimes and yard art from rusty metal, incorporating reclaimed objects into bird houses and other sculptural combines, collaging and painting art-rock posters, or metal smithing silver and brass, it all began as a challenge. From an early age, my answer to "what do you want to do when you grow up?" was always "I want to make things." It's been a fun journey. I can't wait to see what comes next.
