Note from shop owner Hi, I’m closed while I’m selling my work in person at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, which runs until the end of October. I may be overseas in November, which will put my reopening date in December, just in time for the holidays!

And the bead goes on.....

I began beading about 30 years ago when I needed a source of income that I could make at home raising 2 adorable kids while my bf played music at night- I eventually branched into macrame (thanks to Lauri W), which started me on a new creative journey that hasn't ended yet!

I started by selling my craft on a blanket on the ground and grew into doing shows and festivals. It was a challenging and fun road with plenty of ups and downs.

I design, create and guarantee everything I sell- a claim not many can make these days.

My craft has supported me full time for decades now - traveling and selling at art, music and renaissance festivals in the eastern and southern U.S., always moving to make our living where we can. We’re so looking forward to getting out and doing shows again this summer!

I started the Etsy store several years ago as an answer to customers asking: "Do you have a website?" "You should have a website." "Why don't you have a website?".
Etsy made it easy to offer my wares to a wider audience than I can reach at shows. I prefer selling in person and seeing the happy looks on my customers' faces- but selling on Etsy is the next best thing!
I've also gotten my other half to open a shop to help us through- check out his beautiful photography of his travels at:
www.enchantedworldphotos.etsy.com

I feel very blessed to be able to make my living doing something I love and bringing some beauty into my corner of the world and making people happy- it sounds sappy, but I really can't ask for much more than that...

Shop policies

Hi- this is where I tell you all the dirty details about shipping, refunds, etc.
I hand make every thing in my shop myself. This allows me to control quality and be able to offer you my guarantee:
I repair my own work if it ever breaks, for any reason, for as long as you own it, as long as it is from normal wear.
If it breaks from accidental abuse (cats, cars, lol), I'll do my best and charge what is fair. I will restring quills once if you break it, for shipping costs. You must pay to return the broken item to me. I will adjust length of necklaces and other adjustments for shipping costs, or a fair price if it is for extensive change.
If you lose an earring, I will do my best to reproduce it and charge you half the current price for that style and shipping.
I take great pride in the quality of my work, and will stand behind it- it should never break under normal usage.

Accepted payment methods

Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns and exchanges
Contact me within: 14 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 21 days of delivery
I don't accept cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
If you aren't happy with what you get, let me know. Return them within a reasonable time- 2 weeks. I will refund the original purchase price and the shipping costs, and you pay the cost to return it to me.
If items are damaged in transit,, please return them and I will refund your purchase price and the shipping cost to return item to me. You will only pay the cost of the original shipping, so we share the cost of the shipper's damage.

I don't exchange items, as it gets confusing. Every transaction will be separately handled-I'll refund the sale of the first item and buyer will buy the second- to avoid confusion and complications. Repeatedly returning items to get different ones is not very nice.

Feel free to contact me for any reason regarding your purchase. I'm a pretty nice gal overall. So they tell me.
Payment
I accept Paypal or direct checkout- but contact me if you prefer to send a money order.
In case of non payment on a purchased cart, I will convo/email you twice- after 2 days, then 4. If no contact is made, I will cancel the sale on the 8th day to receive my fees back and relist the item for sale. Please just let me know if you change your mind on a purchase- I would appreciate knowing so I can put it back in my shop for sale- thanks!
Shipping
I ship everything first class mail USPS. Please contact me if it does not arrive within ten days and I will discuss what to do depending on what the tracking info states. I can't refund monies if the tracking shows a delivery to the address it was mailed to.

I no longer ship international after the non delivery and untraceablity of several shipments in the past. I no longer have faith they will be delivered and can't justify more losses of my work and time!

Please let me know right away if the item does not arrive in perfect condition.

If an item is returned to me for some reason, I will attempt to contact you by email/convo for one week following the return. I will cancel the sale on the 8th day and refund the purchase price minus my cost to ship the item and confirm delivery.
Additional policies and FAQs
I rarely accept custom orders in general, due to the labor intensive nature of my work, and my selfish wish to keep my time and energy focused on my current projects. However, I can usually reproduce items in my sold section fairly closely, and I can show you what I have in stock in different colors if you like a particular style.

The bulk of my work is not listed on etsy, so I will be happy to talk to you about color requests if they are color schemes I am comfortable working in. Trust me, it's important to work in colors you like if you want a beautiful outcome to the work! Thanks!

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

My jewelry can be gently washed with a toothbrush and mild detergent- laundry or dish soap is fine- don't scrub, as many beads have a coating that could be rubbed off eventually. The toothbrush should reach any dirt or tarnish embedded in the beadwork. Rinse and hang up in a screen of a window to dry! You won’t break the thread- just flatten or straighten as needed.

Can you switch to clip on earrings?

Yes! Just let me know and I can switch the wires to clip ons. I'm afraid I can't switch to lever back earrings due to the size of the loops on commercial leverback earrings.

How strong are the quills?

Quills are natural “hair” from an African porcupine. They are fibrous inside and have a little flexibility to them, so that you can tell when you are pushing it too hard- unlike wood, which will snap with no warning. I’ve never had a problem with them breaking, but I don’t expect it to take the same abuse a metal hairstick does. They may absorb moisture from wet hair and should be allowed to dry out before putting pressure on them in that case. The quill will feel a little soft and it will be obvious it has absorbed water. When dry, it will harden up again. If you are torturous on sticks, this may not be for you, but normal usage will have no issues!

What are your ear wires made of?

Unless otherwise specified, my ear wires are made of sturdy 20 gauge sterling silver or gold filled wire, with added beads to match the earrings, and always come with rubber backings. I use plated stainless steel earring wires for inexpensive pairs- I can switch them to silver or gf for $2. I add my own beads to the wires so they match the earring, instead of just something the earring hangs off of. They are also a bit shorter than most commercial ear wires, which brings the earrings closer to your ears. If you look around, you'll see few people offer precious metal wires, which have a richness not found with plated wires.
I can switch them out for clip ons-free, or niobium ($3)wires if desired. Just ask!

Wholesale availability

I can't physically make enough to do many wholesale orders, as I'm only one person- and my prices are set accordingly, with no middle man- but I can sell a grouping of pieces at a 30 % discount, minimum $300 retail total. Contact me, I will pull from current stock, not my etsy shop inventory.

Do you ship out of the US?

No, I used to, but had several problems with arrival, customs, and communication- so I decided to focus only on the US, where tracking is easily used to keep tabs on my small packages.

Where else do you sell so I can see your work in person?

I’m happy to say I’ll be returning to the summer 2022 shows of Scarborough Faire near Dallas, weekends 3 and 4 as a guest artisan, to Allentown Arts festival in downtown Buffalo, NY, booth D 317 in June, to Blissfest in northern Michigan in July, and to the Maryland Renaissance Festival in the fall.
