Vintage, secondhand, new, upcycled and plain old

When I was a kid, I went to kindergarten. Here I did sit for hours making bracelets and necklaces, picking the most beautiful beads for my pieces. And when I got back home, I would cut my pieces up and add the beads to my collection.

Yes, I collected beads of all kinds and kindergarten was my biggest supplier at the time. Most precious were glass beads looking like rubies and diamonds. I collected beads for years and later I added jewelry to the collection.

In 1998 I lived in Strasbourg for 6 months and I started making jewelry between studies. Mainly for friends and family. 10 years later I was stuck at home, with a beautiful babyboy, but also with a lot of time on my hands. So, I started an internet shop trying to sell my handmade jewelry.

I closed the shop again. It was too hard having to both make, brand, and sell the jewelry all by myself. But I never stopped making jewelry or collecting it. So here I am (again) on Etsy hoping that you, your friends, or family like jewelry as much as I do.

My favorite piece of jewelry is a necklace with a small pendant made of gold with a small ruby in it. My mom gave it to me. It was made of a special ring that my granddad gave my mom when she was 8. My granddad died when I was 12 and this piece of jewelry means the world to me. I am quite sure that Ragnarök will be upon us if I ever take the necklace of!

Jewelry with a history means a lot more to me than what it is made of. I like that I can still smell the perfume of the woman who owned the piece of jewelry before me. Just imagine the adventures it has been on.

Not all my jewelries are vintage, some are plain old. But even if they are not vintage, I like the thought of them being reused and loved again. Some pieces were broken when I got my hands on them. So, I upcycled them. Gave them new locks, took out broken beads or even made them into new pieces of jewelry.

I do still make jewelry. It is hard not to. They are made under the name KbyK or Jutland Jwls (Jutland is the part of Denmark where I am from). If you have special wishes or comments, feel free to contact me.

I sincerely hope you will find a piece of jewelry that suits you. They are just waiting for you to take them with you on new adventures.
