The ring is wonderful, exactly as in the photo, a beautiful and enchanting stone. It's adjustable and lightweight. The only big flaw: the material tends to rust, already the second time I wore it it stained my finger and some points of the ring are discolored. For what I paid it doesn't seem very correct to me, I was expecting a higher quality material.

Dark and elegant designs to charm and inspire

Created in 2005, Dark Elegance Designs wonderfully combines the sophistication and charm of bygone eras with owner and designer Rachel's decadent gothic styles to create elegant pieces of wearable art.

Each item is lovingly crafted by hand, producing stunning jewellery adorned with semi-precious gemstones and laced with elements of Rachel's influences; her love of fairytales, gothic literature, Vaudeville, pin ups and those curious, decidedly odd Victorians.

"I'm very proud of my attention to detail and always pondering new designs and tinkering with varied combinations. From stunning gothic chokers to Victorian necklaces and beautiful cameos, it's jewellery to make that special outfit perfect."

It was as a child though, that Rachel's fascination with jewellery really began, with one particular visit to her grandmother who possessed a mysterious black box:

"On glimpsing its contents I was immediately intrigued. Being so young I imagined these objects as more than jewellery - they were each of them a beautiful, intricate treasure. I've never forgotten that feeling, and so with Dark Elegance Designs I strive to recreate that sense of wonder for my customers."

Indeed, each item comes beautifully gift wrapped and sprinkled with silver stars, something Rachel acknowledges is a vital element of her business:

"It's really important to be happy with everything I produce, and I love packing the final pieces knowing each customer is going to open something special they can treasure. It's what makes running Dark Elegance Designs so worthwhile and the feedback is always positive which is great."

To date Dark Elegance Designs jewellery has featured in various publications and online blogs, most notably in an alt wedding supplement for www.devolutionmagazine.co.uk and an interview piece in Gothic Beauty magazine:
