First and foremost, welcome! Thank you for taking the time to look at my work.

Artistically, my fascinations hover somewhere between Gothic and Art Nouveau, and I find myself drawn to creating an ornate, stylised, delicate style of jewellery. Making these items is a passion and a delight, and something I've been doing since I was a child, working with my father to make jewellery items to sell at school fetes and faires.

I welcome any questions about my items and any requests for adjustments or customisation - if you're interested, I'm interested. It's always great to make something that's tailored to an individual, anyway (other than myself!).

Payment
Currently, I accept payment for international (non-UK) sales via PayPal and Direct Checkout. These are both quick and secure forms of payment, and do away with all those tricky problems regarding conversion of different currencies.

In addition to PayPal and Direct Checkout, I can accept cheque, postal order or bank transfer payments in the UK ONLY, after prior agreement with myself. If you wish to pay by any of these methods, please contact me BEFORE making a purchase.

I expect payments within 3 days of sale - if you need longer than this for any reason, please let me know.

Goods will not be shipped until after payment has been received and has cleared (in most cases, this is immediately via PayPal, though occasionally PayPal makes payment via an eCheque rather than bank or card transfer and then there may be a delay of up to a week before the payment clears). With Direct Checkout, goods will be shipped once the payment has been received by Etsy.
Shipping
All of my items have basic shipping as standard - this means First Class Mail in the UK and International Standard (Airmail) for the rest of the world. Shipping upgrades are available at extra cost (see below).

Packages to the US and Canada typically take 5-10 days in transit (dependent upon proximity to a major town/airport). Packages to Europe usually take 4-8 days. Of course, there can be delays at times of peak mail (e.g. Christmas) or due to Customs, and it's not unknown for packages to take up to 6 weeks (though that is unusual unless there's been some sort of natural or national disaster that severely disrupts everything).
In general, if packages have not arrived three weeks after confirmation of shipping, please let me know.

A NOTE ON SHIPPING UPGRADES
I do offer shipping upgrades if you really want one, although, in my experience, apart from domestic UK Recorded Delivery, they are rarely worth the money. At the present time, Royal Mail international deliveries don't really offer full door-to-door tracking (just until first touchdown in the destination country) and charge a high premium for this partial tracking (see 'International Sales' below). Expedited international shipping via RM doesn't seem to get the package to your door much quicker and is costly.
In twelve years of international shipping with RM I have only twice had an international delivery go missing, out of literally hundreds and hundreds of packages, so would suggest sticking with basic shipping unless the order is large, in which case using another delivery service with better tracking might be appropriate - in which case, I will contact you to discuss options.

For international packages which really, really need to be delivered quickly, ask me about couriers - however, be warned, these are very costly indeed (about 5x the cost of regular shipping and upwards).

PACKAGING
All jewellery items are protected, gift-packaged in a rigid box or organza bag tied with brocade or lurex ribbon, and shipped in padded envelopes. Please note: the envelopes might be recycled rather than new - please do not be offended by this, as I always try to recycle packaging if I can. The inner packaging is new and unused and ready to be given as a gift (or enjoyed yourself!).

UK SALES
All UK sales are posted via First Class Royal Mail. This is not a trackable service and does not offer compensation for any items that go missing in the post.
If you would like an upgrade to Signed For (trackable) or Special Delivery (trackable and with guaranteed next day delivery), please contact me.

INTERNATIONAL SALES
All international sales are shipped using Royal Mail International Standard (Airmail). This is not a trackable service and does not offer insurance.
If you would like to upgrade to Royal Mail International Signed and Tracked (Airsure), a service with insurance, expedited handling and tracking which also requires a signature on delivery, please contact me. Airsure costs roughly $6 in addition to normal airmail costs (so would be an additional payment of $6 for an item with standard shipping). For large orders (over £120/approx. $150) I will include Airsure free of charge.

I aim to ship all orders within 48 hours of payment (unless I am on vacation, which will be marked in my shop).

Please note that international packages may be examined by Customs - unlikely, in my experience, but possible - who may impose an extra charge. Please check your own customs regulations for local duty charges.
Refunds and Exchanges
I always try to work with customers and will do all that I can to keep everyone happy and to try to iron out any problems. However, difficulties can and do occasionally occur. If there's any problems with receiving your goods or their quality when they arrive, please get in touch with me to discuss things. I'm sure everything can get sorted out, but please bear the following in mind:

REFUNDS
In the unlikely event that the item is not as shown or described in the listing, I will refund the full purchase and shipping price, including return shipping. Contact needs to be made within 14 days of receipt and the item must be returned to me, unworn/unused and with original packaging. I will refund all costs on receipt of the returned item.

If, an item is as shown and described in the listing, but within 14 days of receipt, you decide that you do not like/want it - i.e. you have changed your mind - then contact me and I will issue a refund for the cost of the item (including original shipping) once it is returned to me, unworn/unused and with original packaging. In this case, you are responsible for the return shipping costs.

Please note that in each of the above scenarios, the item must be in the same condition as when it was sold, i.e. unworn and undamaged and in a resellable condition. If it shows signs of wear or damage then any refund might be reduced.

Most importantly, if any problems do occur, please let me know and I'm sure we can find a work-around solution suitable to us both! The last thing I want is an unhappy or disappointed customer.

DAMAGED /LOST ITEMS
If an item is lost or damaged in transit then I can either issue a refund (if we decide that a claim against the postal company is best coming from me), assist in a claim (if we decide that it is best coming from you - sometimes this is the case if it can be proven that the problem happened with a non-UK postal service) or make a replacement item for you (if this is feasible). In practice, the solution is almost always a refund or replacement. If an item is damaged, then I will need some pictorial/photographic evidence of the damage before I refund/replace, and I may request for the item to be returned (at my expense).

EXCHANGES
Any exchanges have to be agreed beforehand and cannot be guaranteed without that agreement. If an exchange is agreed, then the original goods must be returned to me (at the buyer's expense) before the new goods are shipped.
Additional policies and FAQs
I'm always interested in making any custom orders, or in adapting, adjusting or customising pieces that I already have on sale.

I have a large range of jewellery components in stock, but in most cases I don't stock large quantities of any individual piece, and I can't always guarantee that I'll be able to get more stock of any particular component. A lot of the jewellery that I make uses stampings taken from original tooling from the 1880s onwards, which are produced nowadays by specialist manufacturers in the US. There are literally thousands of these designs and not all pieces are in production at all times, so something that I may have in stock from a buying spree a year or two ago may be all but impossible to get hold of again now.
(However, alternatives can usually be found.)

Many of my pieces can be customised - necklaces can often be converted into brooches or bracelets, brooches into pendants, etc - or be given decoration in different colours.

Chain length can be adjusted on all of my necklaces.

If you are interested in any of these services, please let me know.

I will consider any requests for wholesale/multiple orders, but please bear in mind that some of these designs are very labour-intensive and that there's no quick way of making them - I don't have any assistants, I make everything myself - and that prices usually won't drop drastically even for "wholesale" orders as I already try to give my customers the best deal I can.

Thank you.
