Woman falls head over heels for glass

How it all began...
On October 23, 2009 I took a "one day" lampworking class at a local studio. The class was a little "make a Halloween craft" class. Instead of pumpkins and candy corn, I launched into a full blown love affair with glass. Melting glass for the first time felt right to me. It was like I knew what the glass was going to do, wanted to do, and soon the pieces were coming fast and furious. Within 3 month of that day, I built a full commercial studio in my home...torch...digital kiln...photograph area...ventilation system...and miles and miles of frit and glass rods. At this point I do it all myself, blending colors, hot work, cold work, metal fabrication, even photographing and shipping. I work full time as an educational psychologist, but glass fills a void. When you flamework and the glass is melting above your lap at 1700 degrees, there are no dishes in the sink, no ringing phones, nothing that matters but glass.

Thank you for your interest in my flamework glass creations. I am an educational psychologist in central Massachusetts. I produce each bead, knob, and work by hand over an open flame. I think my passion for color and flow is revealed in my work.Enjoy
