Returns and exchange details
Returns:
We accept returns. You can return unused items in the original condition within 30 days of your purchase with receipt or proof of purchase. We only ask that you contact us within 14 days of delivery if you need to do a return. If more than 30 days have passed since your purchase we cannot offer you a refund. Customized items and custom commissioned orders may not be eligible for returns and is up to the discretion of the shop owners which will be handled on a case by case basis. If a return is accepted then it may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 25%. Regular stocked items that have been customized are subject to a 15% restocking fee if your return is accepted. Digital items are not eligible for returns. Upon receipt of the returned item(s), we will fully examine the item(s) to verify that they are in their original condition and undamaged. If there are any issues with your return we will notify you within a reasonable period of time. If you are entitled to a refund, we will refund the item(s) value (subject to the above policy), a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment, and you should receive an automated notification. To follow-up on the status of your return, please send us a message on Etsy or contact us at darkmatterprops [!at] hotmail.com.

Exchanges:
We accept exchanges. You can exchange unused items in the original condition within 30 days of your purchase with receipt or proof of purchase. We only ask that you contact us within 14 days of delivery if you want to do an exchange. If more than 30 days have passed since your purchase we may not be able to offer you an exchange. We only exchange goods if they are unused, defective, or damaged in transit. Customized items and custom commissioned orders may not be eligible for an exchange and is up to the discretion of the shop owners which will be handled on a case by case basis. Regular stocked items that have been customized are subject to a 15% restocking fee if your exchange is accepted (not applicable to items damaged in transit or defective items). In circumstances where you consider that a product is defective, you should promptly send us a message on Etsy or contact us at darkmatterprops [!at] hotmail.com with details of the product and the defect. Please provide photographs clearly showing the defect. We will provide you with further instructions. When return shipping is required, then upon receipt of the returned product, we will fully examine it and notify you, within a reasonable period of time, if there are any issues with the exchange. If you are eligible for a replacement as a result of the defect, we will send you a replacement product.

Exceptions:
Some items are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. These include:
-Digital items where download instructions have been provided. If you are unable to download a digital item from our server then we can provide a physical copy on a disc and mail it to you at your expense.
-Any customized item including but not limited to custom sized clothing and/or items with custom graphics.
-Claws with the preassembly service provided or that have already been assembled by the customer. Customized claws are designed to fit your hands and therefore cannot be sent to another customer.
-Labor fees such as preassembly services
-Shipping and handling fees
However, if there is a defect or other concern with the quality of the custom item you received we are willing to work with you to resolve the issue.

Shipping:
To return the item you purchased, please mail it to the return address on the shipping label. Please contact us if you need the return address.

Refunds do not include any shipping and handling charges shown on the packaging slip or invoice. Shipping charges for all returns must be prepaid and insured by you. You are responsible for any loss or damage to item(s) during shipment. We encourage you to purchase the insurance option for your return shipment. We do not guarantee that we will receive your returned item. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. Any amounts refunded will not include the cost of shipping.
Payment
Payments:
Payments are processed through Etsy to ensure that your transaction is safe and secure. We do not have any involvement in the payment process. We currently accept all payment methods supported by Etsy. When making a purchase in person we also accept cash. If you require help with processing a payment please contact Etsy.

Deadlines:
We try our best to meet deadlines if they are communicated to us at the time of the order. We can make no promises if deadlines are earlier than the manufacturing timeframe posted on the item. Custom orders, preorders, and orders that have been modified may incur delays beyond the posted manufacturing time.

Cancellations:
To cancel an order you have placed, you must contact us through the Etsy message system or by email at darkmatterprops [!at] hotmail.com. Please provide your name, the order number, and the reason for your cancellation request. Please note that if the item has shipped, the order cannot be canceled. In this case, you can request to return the item for a refund (minus shipping costs). Custom commissioned orders, including custom sized clothing, are subject to a 20% cancellation fee if cancellation is requested more than 72 hours past the time of purchase. Regular stocked items that have been customized are subject to 15% cancellation fee if cancellation is requested more than 72 hours past the time of purchase. All other orders are subject to a 5% cancellation fee if requested more than 72 hours past the time of purchase. Cancellation fees will be determined based on the above policy and are at the discretion of the shop owners which will be handled on a case by case basis.

Privacy Policy:
We are committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of your personally identifiable information ("Personal Information"). As part of this commitment, our privacy policy governs our actions as they relate to the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information. Personal Information may only be used or disclosed for the purpose for which it was collected unless you have otherwise consented, or when it is required or permitted by law. We take all reasonable precautions to protect your Personal Information from any loss or unauthorized use, access or disclosure. Personal Information will be maintained in as accurate, complete and up-to-date form as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is to be used. It should also be noted that since payments are handled directly through Etsy we (Dark Matter Props) do not have access to any of your payment information.
Shipping
General Information:
All orders are subject to product availability. If an item will be delayed beyond the listed manufacturing timeframe at the time you place your order, we will do our best to notify you in a timely manor and refund you the total amount of your order, if requested, using the original method of payment.

Delivery Location:
Items offered on our website are available for delivery to most domestic and international addresses. If a purchase is made where shipment is unavailable to the specified shipping address we will do our best to notify you in a timely manor and refund you the total amount of your order, if requested, using the original method of payment. An alternate shipping address may also be provided.

Delivery Time:
Your delivery time is dependent on the shipping service that was selected at checkout. Delivery times are estimates and commence from the date of shipping, rather than the date of order. Delivery times are to be used as a guide only and are subject to the acceptance and approval of your order. Business day means Monday to Friday, except holidays. Please note we do not ship on [Sundays]. Date of delivery may vary due to carrier shipping practices, delivery location, method of delivery, and the items ordered. Products may also be delivered in separate shipments.

Construction Time Frames and Deadlines:
We will do everything in our power to meet any deadlines that are communicated to us. Although, the nature of what we do means that sometimes delays are unavoidable.

Shipping Costs:
Shipping costs are based on the weight of your order, package size, and the delivery method. To find out how much your order will cost, simply add the items you would like to purchase to your cart, and proceed to the checkout page. Once at the checkout screen, shipping options and charges will be displayed. Additional shipping charges may apply to remote areas or for large or heavy items. You will be advised of any charges on the checkout page. Sales tax is charged according to the province or territory to which the item is shipped. International locations may have customs fees or taxes that need to be paid. It would be best to check with your country's customs department to find out if there will be any fees. The customer is responsible for any customs fees or taxes that may apply to their order.

Damaged/Lost Items in Transport:
Dark Matter Props is not responsible for items that are damaged or lost in transit, however, we do purchase insurance on high value items and, at the time of writing this policy, there is an automatic $50 insurance coverage on Priority packages ($100 for international customers) as well as $100 insurance coverage on Express packages ($200 for international customers). So if your package is damaged or lost during delivery, DO NOT throw away the box or any packaging. Take lots of pictures of the box, inside and out, and the damaged items. Then contact us immediately through Etsy or at darkmatterprops [!at] hotmail.com. If you opt for First Class/Standard shipping and would like to purchase shipping insurance then please send us a message or email to request this service.

Confiscated/Detained/Seized Items:
Dark Matter Props is not responsible for items that are confiscated by customs or another authority. In the time we have been doing business since 2010 we have only ever had one report that an item was detained by an International Customs department. In that case it was required that the addressee needed to fill out a form to submit to the customs department.
You should check with your customs department for rules regarding what can or cannot be shipped into your country. Please note that some locations may prohibit shipping in of ammunition components without proper permission or forms being filled out, even for paintball, airsoft, & dummy ammunition. We must assume that if you order a product from us then have checked your local state and government laws and have made proper arrangements if necessary.
