About

Not saving lives, but contributing meanfully.

To be honest, I didn't even know where Morocco was when I met my husband. It is through him that I grew passion for the Kingdom and the people in it. We go back as often as we can, and thanks to etsy, we have been able to help offset the costs to travel more often and see some of the best artisans around. When we visit, we head out into the bled (country side), the village souks and the artisan cooperatives. Into the back rooms down dusty roads in search of genuine experiences. It is here, where we find the most generous and talented of people, often living in extreme poverty. These are the same men and women who make items that end up in the major markets of Marrakech and Fez, but very seldom see any profits. We pay fair prices for high quality and unique pieces as close to the source as possible. A good sale of a carpet or handira can buy a decent lamb for Eid, or school supplies and clothes for the year and an appointment with a doctor. To tell the truth, even if the money wasn't needed, it would be very hard to resist purchasing such incredible pieces. Our own home is full of Moroccan décor, we have gifted pieces to all of our friends and family and now have discovered etsy so we can continue contributing to these communities and artisans.

A simple American girl & an adventurous Moroccan boy. Her dress was ivory with tiny blue specks and he had a suit rented & black as night. He spoke it seemed every language but English and she just happens to be very good at charades.

All pictures have been taken in natural light and have not been adjusted in any way to manipulate the colors or quality of an item or to misrepresent it in any way. Colors do vary on different monitors and I do my best to accurately represent your item in the title and description, however my idea of latte might be your idea of cream, so if the shade/color of your item is crucial to your purchase, please let me know before buying.
