Announcement    MAJOR UPDATE: We're making some big changes to how we make jewelry. We will be retiring most brass and silver pieces to focus on fine jewelry, one-offs, and limited editions. Our Etsy shop will be closing. For now, our remaining pieces are available on sale direct from our webshop, until they run out. If there are pieces you've been wanting, now is your last chance to grab them!

You can visit our UK shop here: www.datter.co.uk
And our US shop here: www.datterindustries.com

Thank you so much for your support over the years. I'm looking forward to sharing new pieces with you direct from our website. <3 <3 <3

Datter is the Danish word for 'daughter'. It's part 'data', part 'matter'. It's a little alchemical. At the very least, it's my project to turn drawings and ideas into jewelry. Thanks for visiting.

About datter

Sales 4,823
On Etsy since 2011

Dark, illustrative jewellery.

Datter Industries is a project by illustrator Kaye Blegvad (me!) to create subtle, narrative jewellery. It began in New York City in 2010, but has since crossed the Atlantic and all pieces are now made in my London studio.

Datter is my endeavour to turn drawings and ideas into jewellery. All pieces start out as models hand carved in wax, which are then cast and finished individually in my studio. I like my work to show signs of being handmade - nothing too clean or too perfect. The process is part of the product. I draw my inspiration from all over the place - ancient artefacts, talismans, ritual, the occult, weaponry, and the natural world.

Why Datter? It's the Danish word for 'daughter'. It's part 'data' part 'matter'. To me, it seems a little alchemical.

I hope you like what I've made here.

I have a wonderful caster who takes my original sculpted waxes and casts them to metal. I then do all the filing, polishing, soldering, assembly and finishing to turn it into a piece of jewellery.

Hello!

Thank you!

Returns and exchanges
I don't offer returns or exchanges unless an item has been grievously misdescribed (which has yet to happen!). Everything is made to order, so it's really not possible to offer returns unless I've made a Bluth-style huge mistake. Please therefore make really sure you have the correct ring size, colour, etc before ordering!

I am happy to repair or replace any items that are damaged in transit, or any breakages within 3 months of purchase. Please get in touch if you ever have any problems with my pieces - they are built to last!
Shipping
Items are made to order and can take 2-3 weeks to ship, though often ship much sooner. Public holidays or extreme situations in personal life etc may add another couple of days to this, but usually I ship things out much sooner. Handmade can take time! But your items will be with you as soon as they possibly can be.

USA AND INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS

All USA and INTERNATIONAL orders now ship via tracked mail. Average delivery time is 4-7 business days from date of shipping, but the post office don't guarantee that so it can take a little longer. You will get a tracking number when your item ships. I know it's more expensive than shipping used to be, but I no longer think it's safe to ship via untracked, uninsured mail - this way you get your items faster and safer!

International orders can occasionally get caught up or delayed by customs - this is unfortunately completely out of our hands, and we cannot be responsible for customs processing delays. It's very rare but just worth being aware of.

UK orders ship via first class mail. If you'd like to upgrade to special delivery, to get a tracking number and guaranteed delivery date, you can do so by purchasing this listing: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/115512884/express-uk-shipping-with-tracking
