Announcement   I try to be fair with my pricing, but i am also reasonable and willing to negotiate. If you see an item you like but believe there should be a different price, please let me know.

I would rather have a happy buyer than a shelf full of items.

I also do custom work. If you see something that you would like to have in a different species of wood or a different size / shape please feel free to contact me.

Bought these pens for my department heads. They are absolutely beautiful! They were turned and shipped extremely fast. Dave is an artist and a pleasure to do business with. Answered all of my questions. I would suggest him to everyone.

About

Long time woodworker, recent turner

I started woodworking as an offshoot to my home repairs that I performed for my first home around 1975. It seems the more repairs I did, the more tools I acquired, so it seemed a waste to leave them sitting around and I started making furniture and other odds and ends as for sale items. Most of my early work was in the form of tables and custom items for friends and co-workers.

In 2009, I bought my first lathe and after ruining a lot of firewood, I finally figured out how lathe speed, wood species and turning tools all play nice together and started creating marketable items.

I retired in 2012 after 47 years in bank data processing and a couple of stints at IBM and decided to supplement my retirement income with a small business. I have been selling odds and ends online for many years but decided to join a crafts oriented site for my turnings - along came Etsy into my life.

In 2012, I started making the craft show circuit rounds and I have had good success there. I attend about a dozen shows between March and December and then restock during the winter months. While I turn all year, most of my work is created in December through March.

I joined the Red Hands Co-Op in January, 2013 and I have been doing all of my shows with them since.

I come from an artistic family - my father was a regionally famous marine artist in New England and my mother was an artist at a hospital where she drew color pictures of operations before they had color cameras that would be suited for the task.
