Greeting to all of you out there! Weather is a bit crazy around here. Two days ago we were in the 80's, and tomorrow sleet and snow. Who'd a thunk it? I am getting things done as soon as I can with my bad back and the weather. OK. Add bad knees and neck to that list. Anyway, after I get a special order rolling which is giving me some trouble and a large white oak jar, I plan on working on some smaller items, such as spice boxes and mortars and pestles. Gotta keep several of them online for you folks. Not much else to say at the moment. Thanks, Dave

Happy New Year, everybody!!! I admit to being a tad bit slow getting going. Weather has been cool and damp, and that generally means Dave moves slower. Have every plan in the world of being back in the shop on Saturday. Family coming over tomorrow for a visit so that's that. Those who have been looking noticed, as I mentioned earlier, there is no more free shipping. I just don't want to raise the cost of my work to accommodate all of the shipping costs. So, I compromised. I did some rough estimating from experience and am asking customers to pay on the average of about 1/3 of what it costs to ship wood pieces in the Continental United States. Alaska and Hawaii will have to contact me and I will figger it out and charge them in the same general range. Hope this doesn't unnerve some folks, but I decided I couldn't keep taking a bath on the free shipping and I didn't want to jack my prices sky high to pay for it, telling you a lie that you're getting free shipping when you really aren't. Anyway, enough is enough of that. Take a look around and see what I have to offer. More is coming. Thanks, Dave

Seasons Greetings to all of you out there from my little shop and North Central Texas. The land where the weather cannot ever make up it’s mind. This year has been an interesting one. Custom orders, new items, and free shipping. There seems to be a free shipping war going on right now. I have been participating in it actually a bit before Etsy started it site wide. Though admittedly, mine was a tad bit narrower in scope. I only offered it for the Continental United States (lower 48) only. And, with the shipping costs rising again, starting in 2020 I will no longer be offering that. But, I am compromising. And, it will take a couple of days or so to get it done. I will take each item and estimate what it should cost to ship in the lower 48 and cut that basically in half. So, that way you the customer will still be getting a bargain. At least that is my intent. The rising costs of shipping is starting to take it’s toll, so I can’t absorb it in it’s entirety anymore. So, hopefully my solution will be amicable to all. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, I will still try and do the same. Let me know your zip code so I can figger out the shipping costs, and I will only charge you about half of it. Thanks, Dave

I am a disabled/retired veteran who has to admit that he just simply likes doing things with wood. A few years ago, I used to build rustic western style furniture and was rather successful with that. But, as I got older I knew I had to scale down to something a little more manageable. I bought a lathe and some basic turning tools, and the rest is history. I like experimenting with different designs. My preference is using only local wood and the largest percentage is from trees that I took down with a little logistical help from my friends. My favorite woods are pecan, mesquite and bodark (osage orange, bois d’ arc). Other woods I enjoy turning are red oak, hackberry, and cottonwood. Please take a look around at what I have to offer and I am sure you will find my prices very competitive. I do this more for therapy than making money. Thanks, Dave

Returns and exchange details
Simply put, I have and always will stand by my work. If you feel I have misrepresented my work, by either description or photos, let me know how I did that and I will take care of it. If I do need to do a refund, I expect to receive the pieces that you bought first for inspection. I do not refund shipping fees of any kind. After 30 days from when your purchase was shipped I will not issue a refund for any reason. The 30 day timeline was established as that is when all shipper insurances have expired. All refunds are done through the same method the item was purchased.
Payment
I will accept PayPal and Etsy Direct Checkout.
Shipping
I always ship my products by USPS unless requested otherwise. Most everything goes Standard Post. I do try and keep the shipping costs down. Thurs & Fri and shipping days. With the rise in fuel, boxes, bubble wrap, and other such items it takes to make sure your piece arrives as we both want it to, then this has to be considered in the costs. If you prefer to have your piece shipped priority only, let me know and I will recalculate the costs with your zip code. If I feel I ended up charging you too much I will certainly refund those monies back to you. But, please also keep in mind that these are wood products which do have some weight to them so the costs are accordingly. All prices posted are for the Continental United States only. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, or in another country please contact me for with your zip code for shipping costs.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom Orders: From May22, 2018 on I will no longer take custom orders unless you are an established repeat customer of mine. Sorry to have to implement this policy, but I have left hanging out to dry too many times now. I used to pride myself on being one of the few turners that take custom orders, but that has been abused now too many times. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
