About

Background and Approach to Photography

Entirely self-taught, my passion for photography began in 2008 after I discovered a website called Flickr. Inspired by talented artists, I bought my first camera, a Pentax K10D, and I started reading everything I could to learn the basics, mainly from blogs and books, and then putting into practice in the field. Soon, I discovered a particular interest for landscape and natural light.

Being outdoor and capturing the beauty of nature under a dramatic light is what I like most! I always try to improve my technique to be ready for all sorts of subjects or different lighting situations. In the field, I put a special care into getting everything right into the camera, rather than relying on computer manipulation afterwards; that's why I use equipment such as filters to control contrast or prolong exposure times. Once I have found a great potential composition, I like to experiment under different light settings or at a different time of year, until I am totally happy with the photo.

I photograph in RAW format and process my images using Lightroom and Photoshop CC. I try as much as possible to get everything right into the camera and only make subtle adjustments in Lightroom to keep a natural look to my photos. When I am faced with a scene that exceeds the dynamic range or the depth of field of my camera, I will manually blend several images in Photoshop using techniques such as luminosity masking or focus staking to overcome technical limitation of my gear. I also rely on Photoshop to stitch images for panoramas and to clone-stamp artifacts on my photos.

Frequently asked questions
Limited edition fine art print

An original fine art print, limited to 30 copies (all sizes combined), numbered and hand signed to decorate your interior or business. These conditions allow the print to be considered as « a piece of art » in regard of the french law, this will give a higher value to your investment compared with prints that are produced in much larger quantities which are considered as « products ».

Print information

The photographs are printed by professional lab using only the best materials: very high definition printers, pigment inks and acid-free art paper. Their durability is estimated to over 100 years when displayed in typical lighting conditions.

Sizing details

The sizes shown in the shop indicate the dimensions of the image. For handling and matting reasons, the prints will have a variable-sized white border around it so that the print will be slightly larger than the listed sizes. If you require the image to be printed to the full size of the paper (i.e. if you intend to frame the print without a mat), leave me a note in the comment field when you check out, or contact me to let me know.

Custom and personalized orders

All possible sizes and options are not listed. I can, upon request, offer custom sizing or print on other materials. If you have special requirements, please let me know, I can work to your needs.

Packaging and shipping

The prints are carefully protected with silk paper, then rolled and shipped in sturdy cardboard tubes to ensure that they arrive without damage.

Care instructions

Whenever possible, I recommend to bring your print in its original packaging to your local framer to have it matted and framed to your liking. For maximum durability, avoid hanging the print in direct sun or moon light unless using a protective UV coating as this may cause colors to fade over time. Avoid hanging the print near heating or cooling systems as these may cause condensation behind glass which can damage the print.

Bulk discount

Please contact me to inquire about bulk discount rates.

Damaged print (in transit) and returns

The prints are carefully protected. However, if your print arrive damaged, please let me know immediately and include pictures of the damaged print and packaging. As soon as I reviewed the damages, I will ask you to cut the print with scissors and send it back to me in an envelope (to prevent fraud). Once the envelope received, I will send you a new print at no cost.
