Announcement   Hello, welcome, thanks for coming!
Each piece of jewellery I make is a unique creation. I do not use any mass production techniques, such as casting, die-cutting or stencils.
I used to have a regular weekly stall at Glebe Markets in Sydney for many years, but currently I've moved to doing a monthly stall in Canberra at the fabulous Old Bus Depot Markets. I may also start another market or two in Sydney, again on a monthly basis, but that's still a work in progress at the moment (meaning I'm procrastinating). Anyway, I have a blog at www.davidloong.blogspot.com where dates for upcoming markets will be listed.
Also, you can see some more examples of my work, and some information about the techniques I use to make things, at www.davidloong.com.au

I'm also a new recruit into the Sydney Etsy Team.

All orders are shipped from my home here in the Blue Mountains. It can take a few days to reach people in Australia through the post, and around 5 to 12 days for international orders.
Please note that I've just changed the currency settings on my shop to Australian dollars.

Crappy light which does not do the piece proud. Awesome work. MIL seems rather pleased...I know I am. Thanks.

This was a custom made pendant - and David was a delight to work with! Fast, creative and patient! I would definitely work with him again!

Payment
I accept PayPal transactions from all over the world, but Australian customers may prefer to contact me through a Conversation to request a different method. If you would like to purchase a piece, but cannot send payment at the time, please let me know of any delays and I will be happy to accommodate you.
Shipping
All purchases are shipped using Australia Post in a bubble-wrap lined package. Australia Post does not operate over the weekend, so any purchases made from late Friday until Monday morning will be unable to be sent until Monday. I endeavour to pack and mail out orders as soon as I receive notification, and as soon as I have a confirmation of payment received. Sometimes this can be within the hour, but occasionally I get let out of the studio on good behaviour and may not be able to check my email for a day or so. I will always send an email notifying that an order has been received and is being attended to.

Shipping options for Australian customers:
Australia Post now has two levels of standard post - one slow (Regular) and one not so slow (Priority). Regular is listed as taking 2-6 business days, Priority 1-4 business days.
Registered Post offers more security, as a signature is required on delivery, and enables tracking of the item. As with standard post, Registered Post also has a Priority level, which makes it a bit faster in theory. Overall, though, Registered Post is a slower method than standard post.
Express Post also allows tracking of the item, and is theoretically the fastest service offered by Australia Post.

Shipping options for international customers:
I can offer alternatives than the basic shipping option on request. Some of the choices are Registered Post International and parcels with a tracking feature. However, as the prices for these services vary from country to country, and are not universally available, it isn't feasible to list them all for each item. Please contact me and I can advise you of what options are available and what the price would be.
As a general rule, alternative shipping options start at around AU$20.
Refunds and Exchanges
I try very hard to make sure that each piece I make is of good quality, and is made to last for many years. If any customers have any concerns, however, once they receive a purchase, they should always feel free to contact me without hesitation to discuss the matter.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am always happy to receive requests for specifically themed pieces, but in general I will only take commissions under certain circumstances. If I can design and make a piece that meets with a customer's requirements, and which I would be happy to have in my general stock, I will offer the first option to purchase the completed piece to the customer who requested it. There is no obligation to purchase if it does not meet with expectations. As the creator of the piece, I retain the right to then offer it to sale to the general public.
If a request involves a design that I would not normally be happy to have for general sale, I am afraid that I will have to decline the commission.
