Additional policies and FAQs
I get a lot of questions about my fairy portraits, so I'll answer a few of them here.

Q. What do I need to send you for a fairy portrait?
A. A good, high resolution photograph of your child (or children, or child-at-heart).

Q. What background can I have for my fairy portrait?
A. I have a large library of original backgrounds, all my own photography. The background available for your photo depends heavily on the image you send me. I take into consideration the pose and lighting, as well as the overall effect when choosing a background. My images include beautiful Australian birds and animals, as well as flowers and foliage. I also have a collection of headstone and grunge backgrounds for gothic-look angel portraits.

Q. Can I have more than one child in a portrait?
A. Yes, as long as both those children are in the same photo together. I cannot put 2 children from 2 different photos into one portrait.

Q. Can you put my child on a magical creature, like a griffin or a unicorn?
A. No, unfortunately not. I've not been able to photograph a griffin (or a unicorn) for my background library (yet!). The look I try to achieve for these portraits is real. Please take a good look at my gallery to see my style.

Q. Do I have to choose a particular background or will you choose one for me?
A. If you have your heart set on one particular background in my collection, please request it. I recommend studying it so that you can pose your child the same way as the original, and taking a lot of photographs (thank goodness for digital cameras!! LOL). Or, if you have a particular colour flower in mind (eg ... a pink flower), I will advise on some suitable poses that will work with my pink flower backgrounds. Otherwise, if you're happy to leave it up to me, I will search out several backgrounds that will work with the beautiful photo you send me, and you can choose your favourite from the proofs.

Q. Can you use an old photograph for a fairy portrait?
A. It depends very much on the quality of the old photograph. If you wish to know if I can work with a photo before committing to the purchase, please convo me a scan of the photo, and I can tell you if it's suitable to make a fairy portrait.

Q. What if my child has red eyes?
A. I can fix that for you, as well as other alterations. I can clean up scratches & scrapes, those little bruises kids always have on their shins, as well as blemishes.

Q. Can I have my new photo made to look like an old fashioned fairy portrait?
A. Absolutely. I can create a sepia or black & white portrait for you from a new photo. I have a number of lovely effects I can apply to the portrait to give it a dreamy feel, grainy film look and lots of other options. You can even have sepia or b&w with colour fairy wings ... lots of options.

Q. Can I send a nude photo of my child?
A. No. I do not accept nude photos. The only exception to that rule is a well photographed newborn baby's bottom.

Q. What happens if I change my mind?
A. I recommend looking at my gallery to get a good idea of my style before ordering. If you have any questions, please convo me before ordering. If you're unsure about what you want I am happy to convo back & forth until you decide if my style of fairy portrait is what you want. If you do decide to go ahead, please be advised that $10 of your payment is non-refundable. It takes many hours to prepare and convert your photograph into a portrait, and so that small fee is to cover my time.
