Announcement
I work with hot glass to create cabochons (flat backed shapes, without holes) and beads that I hope can bewitch and inspire creativity for beaders and other jewellery designers.
I've had a flurry of activity making new designs over the Australian summer and I'll be listing them in the coming weeks. You'll find something new most days during March 2014.
Any questions or special requests? Simply click on 'contact seller' and I'll get back to you promptly.

About daxbeads
-
Creating a wonderful red cabochon using the gas-fuelled torch in my studio.
-
Helping to publicise the Drysdale Festival of Glass with another local glass artist - Lynda Rogers.
-
My exhibit at the 2014 Drysdale Festival of Glass - over 5000 people all keen to explore glass in all its forms.
-
My first handmade glass cabochon in the process of being beaded into a beadwork cuff. It inspired me to make more.
-
My second handmade glass cabochon - now embedded in one of my beadwork listings on Etsy.
One handmade glass cabochon, now I can't stop ...
I love beadweaving and bead embroidery and the search for delightfully different focal beads and cabochons inevitably led me to learn to make my own.
Waiting for lampwork cabochons and beads to emerge from the kiln to see what alchemy it has added to my designs is now a daily part of my life - sometimes it's alchemy brings delight, sometimes disappointment but it never deters.
As I've begun to include my own cabochons and beads in my beadwork other beaders have asked me to make something 'different' for them to use in their designs ... so here I am.
I hope you find something delightfully different to inspire you in your creativity.

I am a self-taught bead artist striving to bead with social responsibility in mind. In that spirit I use shape, pattern and colour to keep diversity alive in what we look at, what we wear, what we know and who we can be.
