About

A Lifetime of Sewing and Crafting

I have been sewing and crafting for most of my life. The earliest thing I can remember sewing with a needle and thread was a little rag doll with black button eyes that I made with my Mom at age four. I had always wanted a handmade quilt ever since my parents read me the "Little House" books at bedtime. In 1997 I finally made up my mind to learn how to quilt and I haven't looked back.

I only use high quality quilt shop cottons and high quality cotton threads to create my bags and quilts.

I am a Journalism Arts graduate who writes about and photographs quilts for my blog and quilt magazines.

I married my husband in 2000 and we had our first baby in 2005, second baby in 2008 and third in 2014. Many, many baby quilts have been sewn for those babies. I don't have the heart to put the kids in daycare and have worked from home sewing quilts since the first one was born with a few odd jobs here and there when I could fit working around my husband's schedule.

In 2015 I began designing quilt, sewing and embroidery patterns and releasing them out into the world as PDF files. I am happiest when I am in my studio creating or snuggled up under a quilt with my kids and a Dr. Seuss book.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

Returns, Exchanges and Refunds: Unless an error is made on my part, returns, refunds and exchanges are not accepted or offered due to the custom and personalized nature of these pieces. Please read listings and view listing photos carefully to be clear on what is being offered. Quilts are one-of-a-kind and cannot reproduced exactly like a photo because fabrics go out of print quickly and cannot be re-ordered once they sell out. However, I can make your quilt very close to the photos in a listing if desired.

Lost Parcels

I cannot be held responsible for items that go missing in the mail as this is out of my hands and not within my control. When more than one shipping option is offered I recommend choosing one with tracking.

Custom and personalized orders

We do create customized bags and wallets in addition to our ready-to-ship items.

When there is a shop sale the sale price applies to ready-to-ship items only.

We also accept customized and personalized orders for quilted Christmas stockings. We recommend ordering custom/personalized gifts before the end of November whenever possible to ensure they arrive in time for the holidays.

Do you make custom quilts and how much are they?

We do sometimes make custom quilts. Quilts take about 20 hours on average to piece and then need to be quilted as well so we need a longer lead time on these projects.

To get an idea of how much a custom quilt will cost take width and length of the quilt in inches and multiply together to get the square inches of the quilt. Then multiply that number by .15 cents.

Example: King sized quilt: 100" x 100" = 10,000 square inches
10,000 x .15 cents = $1,500.00 (Canadian)
