My daughter LOVES her Bird's Nest. It is part of her daily creative play and she often brings it on road trips. It is one toy that is easy to transport. We also purchased the West Coast scene (whale, eagle, fish, etc.) for friends who live in Vancouver and they were brought to tears by the accuracy of the craftsmanship. Their sons love playing with a toy that is based on the coastal wonder they live in. Thank you!!!!!

Thank you for stopping by. The name 'day of rest' comes from an appreciation of time taken out of the ordinary to rest and renew one's body, mind and spirit. Across all cultures and religions, days of rest are recognized as important times when community comes together to pray and sing; when people rediscover the delights of home, family, friends and pets; when watching grass grow, clouds form, and napping in the sun are priorities for the day. It’s hoped that the items offered here will prompt you and the loved ones you share them with to take more times of rest; to play and dream and slow down to wonder more.

Our resources need times of rest. There is a Torah teaching concerning the Year of Rest where every seven years farmed land was to be returned to its natural state, debts were forgiven, slaves were freed. In this light I am conscious of how we access resources and suppliers: wherever possible I use natural or recycled products and support local artisans/suppliers and fair-trade practices.

I work with natural and organic wools, mostly supplied from sheep, alpaca and llama local to the Saskatoon area. 'Organic' means that the animal itself has not been subjected to synthetic hormornes, wormers, organophosphate dips, routine use of drugs or anti-biotics; its surroundings (pasture, feed) do not contain toxic and persistant chemical pesticides or fertilizers; and no harsh chemicals or bleaches are used in the processing of the wool fibres. Dyes are non-toxic, non heavy-metal, and natural plant or mineral based.

How will you enjoy your day of rest?

LOCAL: Customers in the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan area can pay by cash if they prefer with at-par currency exchange and free local pick-up or delivery.
In my efforts to reduse waste and reuse packaging materials your item is likely to arrive in wrinkled, written on, or generally dis-shevelled materials. Rest assured, it will be packaged safely but it may not look pristine and have that freshly pressed sheen that spanking new envelopes and tissue present. If you REALLY want that, or if you want the item shipped to someone as a present and would prefer a gift-box, please mention it in the 'notes to seller' when purchasing or contact me.

Shipping within Canada is through Canada Post Regular Parcel and prices quoted reflect ACTUAL costs. Shipping can take anywhere from 2 - 10 days. Depending on the size of the item, customers in Alberta or B.C. may be able to have their items shipped by Regional Expresspost for the same cost (includes insurance and 48 hour delivery).

Shipping to the United States is through Canada Post/USA AIR MAIL and typically takes about 2 weeks. Insurance is included.

Additional policies and FAQs
I am proudly Canadian and make my items in a smoke-free but Great Dane-friendly home: our dog however is not allowed to needle-felt or play with the toys.
